To answer the general questions first:
- The "Advertiser" title is an indication to both members and moderators that a poster is allowed to have a signature file with a commercial link, and within reason, post links or interact with members in the forums.
- Advertisers do NOT have any rights to remove posts or have them removed. We give the same consideration to removing a post regardless of whether a company is an advertiser or not.
- TBN members can post positive or negative opinions about companies or products regardless of whether the company in question is an advertiser. There are some limitations like not mentioning dealer names in dealer dispute discussions and of course libel isn't allowed. But things like "I don't like this product, think it's a stupid idea and would never buy it" is perfectly fine.
- If a member is argumentative, insulting or makes a statement that could be libelous, it's going to be removed just like any post... doesn't matter if they are talking about/to an advertiser or any other member.
- We have in the past "kicked out" advertisers who did not engage in good business practices. We have standards for our advertisers just like we have standards for our members.
In this particular case, the advertiser did NOT contact us or request that the posts be removed. The posts were removed because they contained content that wasn't appropriate for our forum (insults, accusations, etc). It looks like about 15 posts were removed... it's kind of like pruning a tree. Take one big branch down and a bunch of little ones have to go too even if they weren't bad on their own.
Hope this answers your questions.
