BX 24
I just got my new BX 24 home and I am look for some info. Has anyone out there rolled a BX? What were the conditions?

Need more info. There are a lot of things that could cause it to roll. Running off cliff (are you in the mountains, desert, hilly terrain), lack of understanding loading and unloading off of a trailer, does it have FEL, backhoe, mowing on slopes, near soft ground on pond dam, etc.?

They are phenomenally easy to roll over (although I haven't done it yet).

Maybe a half-dozen BX rollovers posted in here the last couple of years. Nobody ever takes a photo (don't blame them).

READ your manual, both about rollover prevention and the Roll Over Protection System (ROPS). Keep your FEL low and look out on uneven ground.

It's pretty typical to get em up on 2 wheels a few times, sort of develop your *pucker factor*

I have an L3400, and while I haven't rolled it, I feel like I came **** close last year. At the time I was trying to pull out a small (4") pine tree stump. The tree had already been uprooted in the the wind and I had cut it off so only a few feet of stump remained.

My tractor has two hooks welded to the top of the FEl, pretty far out toward the edges. I wrapped a chain high on the stump and hooked it to the left font hook on the FEL. I hopped back in and put it in reverse. When the chain went taught the whole tractor tried to pivot around the point where the chain was connected, and when it couldn't do that it started to violently tip to the left! It didn't go over very far, but far enough that it definitely got my attention.

I reccomend that you not do anything similar. Pull from the rear, centered, and low.

I did almost the same thing as lopezian with my bx1500. I had a 1' or so vine that was hanging from a walnut tree. I decided to back the loader bucket so that it hooked around the back. I figured 1900lbs of tractor (1200 for tractor, 400 for FEL, and 300 for BB) should pull it right out of that tree. WRONG! The back end poped right up. Glad I had HST. Took my foot off the pedal and slowly brought the back end down.

That made me pucker a bit. As for rolling sideways, I have mowed and graded some pretty decent slopes. The only time I felt unsafe was grading a slope sideways when the front tire sunk into a soft spot. I dropped the FEL immediatley.

The biggest cause of roll overs is the front end loader. The higher you carry it, especially with weight, the more likely a roll over is if you are on any sort of slope. A back weight will lessen but not eliminate the danger. Low and slow is the mantra I always chant when using the fel on an unlevel surface. I had my scare early and just about rolled. Now because I move slow I can feel a back wheel lift just a bit and that tells me to lower the bucket, straighten the steering or whatever. I always wear the seat belt.

Ive done some work mowing saplings in the wood with the MMM - no loader. On a hillside, hitting a sapling on the uphill side is very likely to take you over. It may look like the tractor is going to bend it over, but if the wheel starts to rise theres no second chance - the tree springs up, pushing you over.
