Since it is a multi layer type gasket , I would first try to peel it apart especially in the area's around those to cylinders . If not the gasket , I would venture to guess that it may be the head , But I really doubt it is the head . Being that it is #1 and #4 , I can't imagine it being the block or head or even the manifold . If the bad cylinders were side by side , then Yes Maybe . :confused3:
I would not know which way to go if Mine , Would likely go the $200 for head gasket and bite the bullet if it did not work . :2cents:
