What else do you do with forks besides lift pallets?

Just brought a modified pallet to my 85+ old (he is not sure of his age) next door neighbor to put under his giant pumpkin. He wants to enter it in our 1st annual local contest on Halloween. First time for him growing and I think he instigated the contest. I love this guy!

Apparently I'm now part owner as he is depending on me for transport.

You can almost hear them grow! After the judging, all that food is delivered to the Wildlife Conservation Center and all the critters get to enjoy too.

My 5 half barrels of rocks were full so it was time to haul them away.

Using the half barrels and set of forks sure saves a lot of time. I only have to handle the rocks by hand once. After the barrels are loaded, equipment does the rest.

I figure about 50 more years of doing this I will have the rocks under control.

Going to knock the concrete off and use it again.

I have a project but not sure how to go about it. I have a 24" diameter x 24" long section of reinforced concrete pipe that I want to put over my well pipe to keep anyone from driving into it. It weighs 500 lbs. How can I do this the right way with forks?

My plan was to just stand it on end and set it over the well pipe sticking out of the ground but there's a risk I could drop it on the pipe. A construction guy told me they use some sort of strap thing and it just picks the pipe up and sets it where you want it. I can't find the guy that told me this and have no idea what he's taking about.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to go about getting the 500lb piece of concrete pipe over my well head safely?

Maybe you could use tie down straps rigged like this:

On the Saturday, at 10:00 P.m. ,, when the well needs repair,, the guy your wife calls to get the repair done will not know how to deal with that piece of concrete.
(the well will fail when you are on a fishing trip,, etc,,, )

I would never put that over the well casing,,
If i was afraid of someone running over the casing, I might put three of the concrete pipes around the well, but, far enough away to leave access.

Watch the TV show "Doc Martin" (we get reruns weekly on the local PBS station) and expect the well guy to look like the plumber on that TV show,,
He could not work inside that piece of concrete,,
