Hello,
I Live on a 76 acre farm and built my dream loghome on it about 5 years ago. My farm is split down the middle with a very nice creek. Well, the side i built my house on was strip mined for the coal in 1978 by my grandfather. It is very beautiful now with a very large field . The probelm is that when i dug my well for the house we hit really crappy water and it is VERY high in iron ( but is not hard water)
On the other side of the hill and the creek, where it was not stripped for coal, I have a nice clear pond that is spring fed. The water comes right out of the bank and into the pond. I think If I dug down just a few feet behind where the water comes out of the bank I would hit very clean and clear water. Then I could run a pump and a LONG pipe run to my house on the other side of the hill.
Someone suggested a springbox. What is a spring box and how do you install it? I did a search and came up with nothing explaining this. I don't want to spend $5,000+ to drill another well so this could be my best shot for clean water.. Anyone have any suggestions on how to "collect this clean spring water and get it to my house???
