There was once a popular term called future shock. When I was working I considered myself a cause of it and was proud of it but now I'm a victim like everyone else. Poetic justice I guess.

IMO, life-long learning attitudes and BS product design are separate topics. I can make a reasoned argument for making the Turn Off Vehicle Stability ? procedure fairly convoluted, can't see a reason to make Oil Reset that difficult.
The BMW system (Idrive ?) became a joke, long before distracted-driving made headlines for killing people.
Consider some modern automatic tranis - no dipstick. Some of those, you just have to buy a correct stick, others, even the dealers are scratching their heads. Unless you crush vehicles at 3 years old, in the real world tranis, lines, coolers leak - I don't care what "advanced" tech you put between that reality, and the driver - if it doesn't perform better than a simple stick, then I call it heifer-dust.

What I hate about my truck are the seat belts. Toyota sucks at seat belts and seat belt retractors.

Toyota may have fixed that. I wasn't happy with the belt retraction on my 1996 Tacoma or my 2004 Tundra, but the ones on my 2015 seem to work much better.

Well considering how much stuff they've screwed up recently, I'll live with the seat belts and hang on to my 95.5 Tacoma because the seat belts are the only thing I don't like. Of course I did hack off the suspension and redid it along with the axles and added a gearbox, a supercharger and a bunch of other stuff. But those were just improvements. 10 gears weren't enough so now I've got 20 forward and four reverse.

2001.5 Dodge Ram SLT Laramie, CTD H.O., 6 speed manual NV5600, HD tcase, Dana 80 (hybrid) rear, Dana 60 (hybrid) front. Approx. 150K miles, ALL THE DODGE STUFF is falling apart around me (AC, knobs, controls, switches, wiring, etc, etc), power train will be going long after I'm gone, just getting broken in. Hate to say it, wish I had the power train in a Toyota quality truck.

I had a 03 2500 that didn't last 3 years. Motor was great but the auto tranny, AC, rad fan, axle seal, heater control's, sheet metal rustin, power steering, ect, ect...

You either have really bad luck or really good luck with vehicles it seems. 3 years seems like a really short time for a pickup no matter what the brand.
