What freebie did your dealer throw in?

Who would buy a tractor and not have it delivered - why should it cost? My dealer is 50 miles away and will come down to do the 50 and 150 mile inspection on-site as part of the deal.

I also got a drawbar, two hats and a collection of shear-bolts and other odds and ends including a couple of gallons of hydraulic fluid (just in case). Since then they have delivered the Bush-hog and are bringing down the Rear Blade as soon as it arrives.

They have also made the trip to replace the BH transport lock pin (wrong size) and are also replacing a leaking hose on the hydraulic system, and on another trip dropped by to free-up a sticky seat mount. All part of the sevice I think one should expect.

eanjay,

I think I'm going to move closer to you just to get the supreme service. Sounds like the Dealer is really great and goes out of his way for you. Good to see....

Bought my new Kubota B7510HST/LA302 FEL in May05. Free delivery (about 50 miles one way) and the dealer welded three hooks onto the FEL bucket.

In Nov 05 the sales guy sent me a gift catalog and an ID number to use on the catalog's website. Got a nice $50 desk lamp as a Christmas present from the dealer.

Alas, in Jan 06 that dealer went belly up after more than 30 years selling Kubotas. Internal family matter among the owners.

Flusher: I hope it wasn't the dealer in Sacramento?

I got a 50hr service and tires loaded with beet juice (RimGuard) thrown in. I had to pay for 80 mile delivery and bucket hooks.

I've never told anyone this before but what the heck.

I got a hat. I'm lucky I got that. During negotiations I needed him to store the unit until my house was finished. So I bought it in Dec and he delivered in Feb.

When we were negotiating price I undercut his price by $500 and told him another local dealer had that offer on the table. If he wanted to match that price I'd buy from him because I liked him.

So I'm done signing everything. He shows me the tractor. We shake hands and then he said:

Who was selling you the tractor for this price anyway...just between you and me.

My response: Nobody, I was bluffing........

I saw his jaw drop right to the floor. I thought he was going to deck me....

1 Kubota BX2230 with FEL, MMM and weight box $12,300
Storage for 2 months, Hat and delivery Included
Seeing your dealers jaw hit the floor in shock......PRICELESS!!!!!!

I'm the worst offender here. I love to get free things. Only problem is, none of them are really free.
I have a car dealer in my area that has one price only. You either take it or leave it. They generally beat everyone by a good margin.
I have to wonder how all the companies can afford all the free things. (Actually, I think we all know! haha)
Maybe if everyone kept to one low price things would be much easier.
I don't like to know I have to talk people down. They are trying to take advantage of me if they tell me an inflated price.
Like I said, no freebies, one price, take it or leave it. That would make things work for me!

My dealer included free delivery 25 miles each way, 2 bucket hooks welded on, brush guard, larger 16" backhoe bucket and the 50 hour service. They even came and picked up the tractor for the 50hr service and brought it back within 2 days. Just for a referral that turned into a sale, they came out to the house again and installed a coolant hose heater free of charge.

Welcome to Batchelder Sales

I got free delivery two countys away, about 60 miles. They filled the rears, which I didn't know about until I tried to fill the rears myself and got quite a bath from the geyser! They gave me a drawbar, but I assumed that was included with the purchase anyway. They forgot to send it with the tractor and when I went to pick it up they gave me a hat. They offered me a hat when I bought supplies there for the 50 hour service, but I already had one. They invited me to a big open house event with a free hat, free barbecue, key chains, blue grass band and all that. Darndest thing I've ever seen...over 6000 people (or some shockingly high number) showed up for the shindig and it was wet and rainy at times. Had factory reps from Kubota, Woods, Landpride, more new Kubotas than I've ever seen. I had a blast. Can't wait until next year. I like my dealer.

Flusher, probably those free hooks and desk lamp put him under. You shouldn't be such a tough negotiator ;)
