Makes ya wonder,,,,, what's the average age of members here? I'll be 68 in a couple weeks.
We need a "Machining" or "Machine Shop" sub forum. No reason to loose that guy!!Yeah, you can look up his posts. Back in March he made a post quashing the rumors of his demise. He was quit alive, doing well, and getting into CNC routing and engraving. Neat stuff.![]()

What a coincidence. I was 37, too.I'm 37, been here more than 10 years though.
I liked reading FarmWithJunk's posts, I learned something new every time. Then I recall he said with cancer or something (heart problems?) he didn't know how much longer he would be around.... FarmWithJunk.
I don't necessarily know if that is true? First tractoring I did, I was in college. I would say it would of been when I was 18-20, I just don't remember the exact year. I would occasionally run my uncle's tractor. So if we call it 20, it's been 17 years since I first drove one. But that said I didn't run one regularly till I bought mine in 08.What a coincidence. I was 37, too.
Before you were born!
... and in realty you have more years working with equipment than I do. I had driven tractors in harvest season as a teen. Then hadn't been on one (just a lot of offroad 4x4 adventures) until years later after I retired and bought the Yanmar.
Similar seat hours, then. When I first got the orchard I put in quite a bit of time getting it back in shape. Took out stumps, subdued blackberry jungle that had made whole rows of trees disappear, trenched new septic and plumbing systems. After that, not as many hours per year.... we should be close to the same amount of years...
