( all these complaints will amount to zero.

Just like evey year on the news people whine and complain and then some gov people form a group to look into it....Then to no end, it dies. )

Now that's the Truth Spoken if I have ever heard it!!

I am just tired of hearing about the high gas prices. Do I agree with it, nope. People whine and complain they we (USA) use the most, yup; and it should be cheaper since we buy in bulk It works at Cosco! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

But since I have been alive all the tropical storms and what not have not effected production at all. Now if it rains or a manager on an oil rig farts it effects gas price…Unreal. Any excuse to nickel and dime the people always works.

Wait till the heat in the summer makes the pumps work harder, or a drill bit broke, or the electrical rates went up, or the solar flare from some distant planet....Again anything.

If you're running at 70%, there are plenty of other refiners to pick up the slack when some place, like in the gulf, gets knocked offline. When you're running at 98% - 99% as we are now, this isn't possible. Eliminate 10% (or whatever the gulf refining capacity represents) of the supply, demand stays the same, prices go up. That's the difference. Same applies to oil supply. Time was when Saudi Arabia could just pump more oil to drop world prices, now they're running close to capacity.

Gee, heard the same thing for years too. Just like demand went up within 12 hours & the gas went up over $0.50 per gallon.

I hear the same blah blah at work too everyone says we are all busy...Right, look around and tell me that.

Again any way to get more, they will.

If people want to believe it's just one big conspiracy, then so be it. Sure saves a lot of thinking.

It's just be allot easier if the Federal Gas Tax was raised a couple of dollars everywhere.

( Where I have one of my problems is what someone else eluded to earlier: The Exxon down the road was selling gas at $3.00/gl this morning, this evening it's $3.30/gl. It's the same gas that was in the tank this morning that was delivered yesterday, but, a few hours later it's higher )

So, if you bought your home for $200,000 5 years ago and now houses in your neighborhood are going for $300,000 does this mean you should only ask $220,000 or so for your house? I mean why should you try and make such a large profit?

What a gas station paid for their gas in the ground has no bearing on what they charge per gallon. Usually they charge what the expect to pay for the NEXT delivery. If a station charges more to increase their profit margin, so what ... don't buy gas from that station -- there are other stations that will not mark up prices as high.

Never stated it was “one big conspiracy” but when everyone on the government side says, “we will look into it every other year” and nothing happens. Go figure.

Gee, for years it was fine, now every little storm does something.

Gee, the station bought gas and the fuel was in my home state, then some hurricane makes it go up some huge amount based on nothing; fuel was here already? Go figure.

There is thinking involved but depends on how good you can read too. Based on the profts on the oil people, you keeping reading what you want.

If we're paying $10.00 a gallon for gas, it wouldn't be our biggest problem, the price we pay for gas is only a distraction from our biggest problem... The American people need to wake up and take our heads out of the sand.

Petrol will be $5.00 minimum by this time next week after Rita gets through with Port Arthur and Houston.

That is IF you able to find any to purchase with your money. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
