What happened to...

Sounds good to me. And I knew Dick was a minister, he has mentioned it before. He has lots to offer on this tractor board. He has given some very good advice to me as well and I look forward to his posts in the future, should he decide to post. I recall a lively discussion we had about gear vs hydro /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

As I said before, it is sometimes very hard to have a conversation with someone when you cannot see their face. You just can't read some people without seeing their facial expressions.

Now, as far as God, beliefs, this country and not stepping on each other's toes goes... I'll save that for a discussion over a pickle barrel with you some day. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I will say your statement:

lets all just accept one another for the different people we are.

are good words to live by. Peace to you and yours. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What a way to come back on here. I have to argue with this one. I never said that I had a special inside track with God. My advantage is my studies. I read around 4 to 6 chapters in the Bible everyday. So I have an advantage in my knowledge of it, not in access to God, see how people can misunderstand what one says. And a Merry Christmas to you and all the others.

Dick,
Glad to see ya back. What... YOU argue with someone?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
My thoughts are that you said nothing wrong, if thats the thread that got you in hot water. You and I may have the same supreme being that we believe in, maybe not. But I'd never say that you have no right to say who it is. I personally don't care what faith/religion you practice or even if you don't. I read what I want to read.......and you read what you want to read.
Now if someone wants to attack me for what I believe, or attack you for what you believe....now we have a problem.

Now on to the next problem......when you notify a moderator.....about a moderator doing the bashing.......that same moderator gets notified too. GOD , I love this place sometimes.

Oh yeah Dick.......stick around, the Yanmar board needs you, I sold my YM1700 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A PM to Muhammad solves this 'problem' rather simply. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Merry Christmas to you to Dick.

We have a great place here. One of the reasons is the most divisive topic ever is taboo. Kudos to the moderators. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But if anyone just has to do a rant on their personal belief system there's a great discussion forum over at the St Louis Post Dispatch called "current affairs" It does get lively at times. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A year or so ago I posted a political statement in the morning here. That evening it was gone and in my personal messages was a note from Mohammed explaining my post wasn't appropriate for TBN.

I had my feelings hurt, made some personal promises, got a little childish inside. Then maturity took common sense by the hand and led me back to the greatest discussion forums on the world wide web.

This place is alot like real life. You take me. I'm a hardcore atheist and liberal enough to make most California democrats a little uncomfortable. But a couple of my best friends are baptist ministers, ordained, the whole shooting match. I also have friends that are libertarian to the point of almost anarchy.

We have some lively discussions on occasion. What is interesting is how much we have in common, mostly how we feel about each other and the common goals we share. And even though I'm just as much of an activist in support of my position as they are about theirs. We just don't go there unless both of us are in a good mood.

I think it's all about earned respect. I said "earned". That takes time and exposure. It isn't painless.

I'll bet the same thing goes for our relationships here.
