Police figure someone started it, shoved it into gear then LEFT...It had been left in the lot waiting for the next snowstorm...Most large plazas around Toronto have equipment sitting at them.

Yeah, accident my left cheek. Guys don't get out of equipment with it at full rev. This was intentional.

At the end of the video it hit a light pole in the parking lot which finally stopped it.

You mean at the end, just before the machine hit the barrier?
Yeah, I would not have wanted to do that. One slip and he'd of been under a rear tire...

Yes, right before it crashed...I'm just surprised that the impact of the concrete pillar did not knock him off.

I thought he jumped just before it hit...been a couple weeks since I saw it though...

just remember what looked like a fireman. in full suit walking a couple times. then was out of picture on other side, of possible jump. but i want to say never did do jump. but more of a test run jump.

I looked at it again, and it looks like he jumped a split second before it crashed.

I don't think he was a fireman. He was in a reflective rain-type suit, not firefighters gear. I think he was an equipment operator of some sort.

Yeah...I'd guess shopping centre (note the spelling for our Canadian friends!) maintenance.

Gee, I wonder WHO would have known that
a) it was there b) with key in c) how to jump clear once they'd started it and shoved it into gear.

Can we say "disgruntled (ex) employee" ?

A guess, just a guess - but I think I know who I would want to "interview" - say, anyone dismissed in the last 3 months ?

Did it say the key was in it?

I have a key for that tractor, as does most of this guys competition.

I think it was a well intentioned circus clown.:laughing: I can't believe it took that long for someone to shut it down.:confused2:

I dont know about you, but I wouldn't jump onto that from the side when it was moving with the cab doors shut. One slip or bump (like a curb or a car) and you would be getting an R1 design imprinted into your body.

I would crawl in the back window, but not the side.
