Nothing that I can see. Same old belt, new clutch & pulley.1/16th hangs over each side. Will it rub anything? Is it the same type of belt? Same lenght? Just 1/8" too wide?
If that happens, I guess I'll have nothing to worry about. It may cause the entire tractor explodes into 10,000 pieces killing everyone within 100 feet. Other than that, it may wear out a little quicker and not be able to transmit as much torque because of the reduced contact area between belt and pulley.
Thats not what I wanted to hear.I did that once and the belt looked like
confetti all shredded to crap. The belt
should always be just slightly inside the
outside edges of the pulley unless you
like buying and replacing belts

Not sure how logistics figures into this equation.Trying to logistically think thru the question. Two things come to mind.
1. It may try to come off.
2. It may slip because of less friction.
Ummmmm,,,,, logistics as in the compatibility of two physical objects. The same logistical thought used to determine that a larger belt is needed in a specific application. Or a smaller belt needed in a different application. Not sure how logistics figures into this equation.
Use the belt and let us know how it works. I think it will be fine.
I think of logistics as the path something takes to get from point A to point B in the supply chain. I would have used logical instead of logistics in your sentence.Ummmmm,,,,, logistics as in the compatibility of two physical objects. If there were no logistical thought used all belts would be the same size.
Maybe we have differing definitions of logistics?![]()
I think of logistics as all physical action and assets used to accomplish a task.I think of logistics as the path something takes to get from point A to point B in the supply chain. I would have used logical instead of logistics in your sentence.
I've tried running wrong sized belts. Some larger. Some smaller. I never had long term good results. In my case it only took a few minutes to turn
the belt into confetti and at $$$ a pop not a
very good idea. I got the larger belt thinking
larger better will last longer? I put the belt on
a lawn mower deck John Deere to be exact.
