Well, after months of debate (inside my head) and hours of discussions here, I finally did it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Signed the papers for a TC24D this morning. Here is how I set it up:

TC24D Hydrostatic w/Turfs
12LA Loader w/54 inch bucket and hooks
Grill guard
914A side discharge mower
Block heater
Woods RB72 blade
Woods SS52 snow blower with rear valve and hydraulic chute
Delivery
Transportation during warranty period

I ended up paying about $500 more than the lowest quote I received, but bought from the closest dealer who also, in my opinion, is a good dealer. He took the time with me and has a good reputation in the service dept. He is also the only dealer that I had available carrying Woods brand inplements, the others carried brands I had not even heard or some that I just found to be less desirable than Woods. So, for $500, I got the brand implements I wanted from a dealer that I trust, and is close by. Worth it, I think.

Probably more than I need, but as it is likely my only tractor, I figured I might as well have enough. I know there will be times I will need all it has, especially during heavy wet snow storms.

Probably will take some ribbing from the neighbors, until I help them out of a bind.

I really have gone back on forth on this decision, but have always wanted one and am finally at the point in my life where I could afford one. With 0% financing, I figured it wasn't taking too big of a chance. I am sure I will enjoy it and have plenty of days I am glad I have it.

Now for the big question - who is willing to adopt me if I need a new home? I'll bring the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Pics to follow once it is delivered, should be within 2 weeks. Until then, I just drive by the dealer every day trying to see if it is there.

Thanks for all the advice, I am confident I picked out a good match for my needs.

Seems you have gotten quite the outfit. As far as you needing a new home, send pictures of the tractor first.

Mark,

( Hey, the transportation during warranty period was a smart move! )

Just one of the many tips I picked up here. It became a big deal to me since I don't own or need a trailer with the capacity to carry the tractor. The chances of needing it are probably slim, but I have it just in case. I think it was a good bet for the dealer as it sealed the deal and in all likelyhood will not cost him anything. A win-win.

The cool extra I am excited about is the hydraulic chute on the blower. Should make life easier with the winds we deal with here in the winter.

Congrats Brad!

If you need a new home, you are welcome here in Mass. After 8' of snow last winter & all the rain this summer, I can barely keep up with all the tractor chores. I Just passed 200 hours (bought mine may '02). Maybe with two tractors & two drivers we could keep the yard under control!

Good job negotiating the warranty transport. You probably won't need it, but good just in case. You'd be amazed what the techs can/will fix "in the field".

Congrats and welcome to the CLUB . The secret hi-five/handshake manual will arrive in a few weeks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif about the time the tractor gets there /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

As for the new home, your tractor and you /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ; are welcome here; but you'll have to leave that snowblower up there, I wouldn't want the weather here to get any ideas /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: What have I done!!!!!??????? good question!

Dude good job with the transportation warranty, you will need it! You might want to get then to give you a loaner during the period of time the tractor is in for repair. I can tell you from experience and my trusty New Holland contact that our small shiny tractors can be prone to manufacture / assembly problems.
Don’t get me wrong I love the little blue things. I always wanted a toolbox full of metric wrenches anyways and that Sears Craftman Club thing is way cool. I just tell my wife that I have to run to Sears to buy a new tool because the tractor broke down again and next thing you know I can get my tractor running better than my dealer could. Now getting New Holland parts is another story.
Welcome to the club! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Your welcome here any time. Quaranteed 8 hours seat time every day tilling, building road, pulling up and removing trees, dragging rocks and the list goes on.

Even supply an evening lakeside fire to end the day with.

Brad, the easy task is over. The hardest part of the buying process is waiting for delivery. I eased the pain a bit by asking my dealer for an operators manual for me to study while I waited. My wait was also about two weeks but studying the manual helped ease the anxiety.
