The bottom panel of my 16" garage door, twice while snowblowing...$500 to replace. I got too close with the weight box (it's hard to turn my head at 72). Just a 15" crease in the steel panel, but it looked bad. The last time was very minor, about 6", that one is still there.

I learned the hard way not to load a tractor on a trailer if it is not hooked to truck. I went for a scary ride until coming to a stop by crashing trailer into the tailgate of brand new truck.
Tail swing of implements has put quit a few marks on my buildings in my early tractor days.
Not having garage door all the way will almost always get you to.

I remembered another one. While tilling a new garden spot in my lower yard, I found 2 sprinkler heads and about 5' of sprinkler pipe in a couple places. Tiller handled it no problem...

Good thing I never use the sprinkler system.

Have one from my Navy days. I was using a forklift to load some weapons onto a weapons cart using a 2-legged sling hooked to the weapon suspension lugs. When I was done I put the sling on the back of the forklift so I wouldn't have to hold it. However, while driving back one end of the sling went down the 6 inch vent hole over the radiator and fan! That fan made the most god-awful noise trying to eat that 1/2 inch cable and hook! I stopped, got it out, restarted it, and drove it back to the yard like nothing was wrong but it was already overheating at less than a mile...It never did run right after that but enough other people drove it that I never got in trouble for it.

Let's see...

I think that's enough to admit too for now. But I've never knocked out my wife with a BH!!!

Who did this? I must have missed it.

Years ago, actually decades ago my wife and I were cutting slash and skidding wood with the tractor wood off some acres we had clear cut. To speed the process, I had her lift and hold a piece while I cut it. We developed a "cadence" of just in time movements and soon it was a masterpiece of time and motion study engineering action. We cut and tossed wood into the tractor bucket.

Except my wife lost count of the cadence and I nicked her little finger with the chainsaw. She's pretty naive and told the doc (yes, stitches) that I "cut her with a chain saw". Yup, I had some splainin' to do but we all had a good laugh later. Well, most of us.

I was really proud of mounts I made to carry a shovel and garden rake behind the seat of a Yanmar tractor I had. It was simply 2 lengths of 2" PVC pipe with mounting brackets to mount the pipes horizontally behind the driver. The shovel and rake handles just slid into the pipes sideways. Always nice to have a shovel & rake with you! Well, I went out mowing with the tractor, unbeknownst to me the shovel slid 3/4 of the way out of it's mount. When I was done mowing I pulled into my parking area and swung in along side my truck. The shovel blade dug deep into the side panel of my truck before the shovel handle and the PVC pipe snapped.
I no longer have much pride in that particular shovel & rake mount idea.

I don't mess things up. I just create opportunities for new projects.

The Gravely guys on another forum feel that I have the last Gravely 24G with a roll bar,,
that exists in captivity!!

roll3_zps980fc2cd.jpg

I believe the roll bar was an extra cost option,,, mine was previously owned by the govt.,,,
so money was probably no concern,,

Other Gravely ROPs owners remove the ROPs,,, it is virtually impossible to turn over a Gravely,,
The mower deck alone weighs 700 pounds, it is close to 7 feet wide,,,
the machine is stable on slopes,,

Well my daughter came over to help mow,,
we H A D a clothes line in the side yard,, two 4X6 treated posts. The posts were only a couple years old.

I put up plastic coated steel wire as the clothes lines.
She drove under the line, as she had done many times before with the Cub Cadet GT (no ROPs),,,

BOTH of the 4X6 treated posts snapped,,, not one,,, BOTH!!
She must have been perfectly centered.

She said afterward, that there wasn't even the slightest shake to the machine,,, the 24G is kinda heavy,,,
