I know it digs trenches, and it pulls out stumps...

But most of all I like it when it reaches way down and cleans out a ditch, or in this case cleans out where I have to connect the house sewer to the main line lateral...

Digging way down is the best part of having a backhoe, in my honest opinion anyway... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It must be the memories of been there/done that with a pick and shovel I suppose... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I love my backhoe... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess mine would be the dumb looks the guys at the auto shop gave me when I told them this computer nerd has one. They laughing asked what I need that for. I told them about a 3.5 foot hole I dug for a bird house/feeder the wife wanted put up...........in the heat of summer and did not break a sweat............they stopped laughing. I dont use a shovel much anymore, dont pay someone to dig ditches, and dont have to mow around stumps. I dont have to dig out rocks, or rent to plant trees, did I mention I dont use a shovel much anymore. Yeah I love having a hoe, it is nice to know it is there anytime I need it, just like the other implements I have.

My brother wishes I had it when he landscaped his yard also, he used a lot of muscle and back with his wheelbarrow and shovel that I would not do now that I have the 23.

Henro, that is a clean ditch there.

Gotta agree with you here Henro. A front end loader can do a lot of work but a good backhoe always rounds out the tractor capabilities and adds the ability to finish jobs that couldn't possibly be completed without it.

I like mine quite a bit but I still haven't fallen in love with it yet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Maybe next week....

i have to say, that's one pretty ditch there... your hoe reaches down in to the trench crossways much better then our 580 does. just something to do with it's shear size.

You did all that work with a 3PH Backhoe on a Whimpy B2910. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Danny, could you post a picture of one of those "shovel" things? I can't seem to remember what they are! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

HENRO, right on brother, what's not to love? John

Henro, what is all that stuff hanging off your FOPS/ROPS. Looks like some wheels hanging down in the back. You carrying an engine hoist up there?

I love my neighbor's backhoe (BX22). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Anytime I need to use a small backhoe, I can. Heck, so far this summer, I've used the backhoe a whole lot more than he has. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif So far, I've only paid in two 12 packs of microbrew, and when I gave him the 2nd one, he said I didn't need to do that. He keeps saying he'll borrow my 3ph implements as payment, but so far, he's had no use for them. At least one of us is getting some use out of all the equipment. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The BX22 is great for planting small trees. Unfortunately, it can't handle 3 dozen of the large trees that I've bought/ordered, so I have to rent a bigger machine just to get them off the truck and moved around the yard (without dragging and tearing up the rootball). So, I unfortunately have to rent a JD110 to plant the big trees in 2 batches - bummer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
