I'm still in the market for a B21, or maybe something a bit bigger, but I ran into a B20 today.
I didn't get a chance to look at it much, but I'm going back over this weekend to take a peek.
It looks more like a predecessor to the BX22 than the B21, but I'm not really sure. I'm not even sure of the age, but I'd guess mid-1980s.
Any ideas? Pricing info would also be helpful.

Bird is correct again. The B20TL was the prior model of compact TLB. Production started in 1990 until 1997 when it became the B21TL. Hope this helps.

Well, personally, since I drive big case backhoes. I find the bx22 quite a small and "wimpy" machine. It's so small you might as well just use a wheelbarrow and a shovel, once you get to the B20 or B21, which are basically the same (minus and plus a few things), it's worth having and you're starting to get somehwere. I'm sure I'll get a lot of people's attention for calling the BX22 such a "wrothless" thing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But, if you have heavy duty things to do and a lot of it, and the room, get a B20, or better yet, a B21.
The B20 has very similar power to the B21, which is quit a bit more than the BX22. Keep in mind that the two machines were designed to meet completely different needs in the market place. The BX is a great landowner machine that will do lighter digging for homeowner projects. The B20 and B21 were designed to meet the needs of light commercial use where a smaller machine was required. In your area, Atlanta Gas uses B21's for installation and repair work.

You always need to choose the right tool for the job. For what it is designed for, the BX-22 does a wonderful job and even "you" would be surprised at it's capablity. That being said, it is not designed for heavy duty work and therefore, should not be considered by anyone with those needs. And there is NO WAY I'd go back to a wheelbarrow and shovel! (Actually, many projects never got done until the BX arrived as I'm not prone to the wheelbarrow and shovel to begin with! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )
