What is a tire, wheel, rim?

Many years ago I worked with a guy that had grown up in Columbia. We were sitting there eating lunch and he asked what was on my shoes? The things that were tied. I said "shoe strings" He the asked what a shoe lace was. He was very confused when I said it was the same thing. Apparently in the U.S., we use multiple names and words which is not always the norm in other places and languages.

Is there an industry standard single word name for "tire with wheel"?

I don't know about industry standard, but I have seen these described as a "mounted tire".
