What is equal to JD 4300?

Thanks for all the replies. I'm mostly interested in performance (loader/b.hoe). The JD 430 loader almost doubles the performance of the NH 7308 loader. Can't find the NH backhoe specs?? I've learned that the JD 48 b.h. is same as the Great bend 851 (made by someone else??) The B21 doesn't campare much to 4300, and the L35 looks too big (and no hydro), but looks equal or better in spec's to 4300. I'm I digging too much (ha, ha)?? Didn't look at L3010, but will soon. I recently purchased a New Holland TC29 ( personal preference as I wanted a gear tranny with a live PTO ). as I do considerable amount of dirt work, I to was a little skeptical about the specced capacities of the 7308 FEL and the durability of the N.H. 757 backhoe. My dealer steered me towards the woods 1012 FEL with a HD 66" bucket. And a Woods 7500 backhoe. Both in New Holland blue of course. I don't think I could have found a better package everything compliments each other. The whole package is well built, really strong and very durable. And I use this equipment, I put 47 hours on it in the first month. I especially like the ease of taking both the backhoe and the FEL on and off.
What I'm saying is don't limit yourself to just OEM add on equipment. There is some great aftermarket units out there as well. I beleive I've increased the productivity of of my tractor considerably by going with the aftermarket units.

You may want to take a look at the Kubota L3710. It can handle the next size up backhoe. The specs are quite an improvement over the L3010, L3410 backhoe.

I liked the 4300 more, but not $3k more and the number of problems reported with the JD at the time scared me off. And this 3010 surprises me more every day. I have yet to find the rock or log it can't lift, the tree it can't drag home, etc. So I'm quite happy with Clementine...but continue to think the 4300 was a better designed tractor. The original poster was asking for opinions; I gave him mine.

The Cub Cadet 485 hoe lifts 169 lbs more than the Deere 430 and 630 lbs more than the NH 7308. The 4300 will take ither the 47 0r 48 hoe. Both have more digging force than the Cub Cadet. I don't have any info on the NH or the Kubota.

The NH 7308 loader may be a bit wimpy on paper but sometimes specs can be deceiving depending on how the manufacturers measure them. I have a 68'' hd bucket on mine and can fill it to the top with rocks and I have yet to have any trouble. Glad I have R4s because turfs probably wouldn't handle the weight.

look at the mahindra 3510 or 4110, nice tractors, 12 spd forward reverse, syncro shuttle, heavier tractor, higher llifting capacities, well built machines, they are number 3 in the world in total tractor production and looking to be number 1. price is competitive and finance packages are very good right now.

Mike, you're right about the tires. My NH TC30 has a 7308 loader and turf tires. With the tires at the max inflation, they go nearly to the rim when I put even a moderate load in the bucket. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
