If you turn a playhouse into a chicken coop, is that an upgrade or downgrade.;)

So how has the Chicken Queen done with her chickens? Do you have portable fencing that you also move around with the coop? I'd love to see some pictures of your setup if you can conveniently post them. I've always considered a chicken tractor to be an open-bottomed pen that might include an enclosed roost/henhouse for the chickens, but I guess the definition could also apply to a henhouse on skids.

I would've said it was the Orel Roberts mausoleum....

Or possibly it was a piece of artwork describing the US economy; here we see this tiny building, humble in it's appointments, diminishing daily in expectations, yet still teetering on the brink....
'nuff politics; I know some people see no humor in political observation.

Another possible use for this building?

A very elaborate "dog" house, for the fellow who is chronically afoul of the boss. Fully equipped with all a man needs to survive one lunar cycle.
Just be sure that a secure locker for the chainsaws is employed, lest the little lady start pulling ropes while she's pulling strings....

What a hoot, I love good natured humor. I have to admit I said a few prayers and give everybody a firm lecture on staying back. I had previously thought about taking it to the back of the property for a pouting shack or as some would say a PMS shelter for men(me and the boy).

dex, Thanks for the intrigue, the interesting project and the good photo documentation. I must say though I may not have tried this approach even in my younger/dumber days (and boy did I do some dumb things). Having spent some years as a timber faller I have an aversion to things falling on me...calculated risk or not. I'd have figured out a safer method. Screw jacks, temporary posts and cribbing comes to mind.

Was in Wisconsin for 6 weeks so we went to the Dells. Rode the ducks and saw the Top Secret haunted house, an upside down White House. We stopped to see what it was about and the people said they couldn't say, it was 'Top Secret'. lol

I thought it was pretty neat.

There are those who say it can't be done, and walk away, and those who just go ahead and do it, using ambition, leverage and experience...

Yes we have a movable wire coop.
The chicken Queen went with her father and picked up 36 chicks locally and from what I read the average ratio should have been about 60% hens to 40% roosters. I would say that this guy knew how to tell the hens and roosters apart because she ended up with 14 hens and 22 roosters.
She didnt loose a chick bringing them up to size. About half of the Chickens were Domenic and the other half were Rhode Island Reds. We ended up having a rooster slaughter as soon as she realized the were going to break her up in feed costs and they were also harassing the hens a lot if you know what I mean. I think we put 18 roosters in the freezer that day.
She had to temporarily sale her herd till she gets out of school, She (the chicken Queen) started school to be a Dental Hygienist.
She has informed me on numerous occasions that I am not to use her chicken coop that she is going to rebuild the herd when she gets out of school.
I suspect that a young man will deter these plans you all know how plans change at this age.
