What is Kubota doing about the broken plastic fenders?

How long has this been a known problem to Kubota?

I would hate to have this be an issue after the warranty.

There seem to be a lot of problems or issues over looked on the BX 1850. I hope they seriously plan to fix these problems. I am starting to think seriously about looking into our State's lemon law to see if it may apply.

In my experience with Kubota I do not think you need to look at the lemon law. They had reasons for increasing the reverse dynamic braking and the issue with the plastic fender is minor to me. They have fixes in the works for these problems and I have confidence they will be repaired. My beef that may not be fixed is having to jack the tractor up to remove the mower. That was not required on the earlier BX.

I hope you are correct. I had no problems with my L3010 and the BX seems like they did not do their home work.
I hope they fix it soon...

Suffice it to say, I will wait until the "recall" is official and all new models have the improvement. I'm a L3830 HST owner with 3 folks beggin to buy my tractor. I still want something to sit and wiggle in even if its a mini compact. As has been mentioned by many members here, just about anything beats a shovel and wheelbarrow, thats where I'm at. :p

RaT I hear you- but I am still very disappointed in Kubota.

The quality of the "Grand L" series versus the BX, as far as I can see, just is not there. The BX is a very powerful machine, exceeds my expectations, but the workmanship , mechanical design, fit and ease of use sucks.

For $10 to 13k I expect more.

Kubota better step up to the plate-and fast-or I will change colors equally fast. I do not care if I pay more-"it is better to be p1ssed off then to be p1ssed on!"

Kubota also has plenty of tough competitors these days and now is not a very good time to infuriate their very loyal customer base.

I hope they read this e-mail!!

The newer models have to be jacked up? I didn't know that. What caused that change?

RaT, there's brand new BX23's sitting on lots still.....

While theres no perfect machine, I find that the BX series is very easy to use, very easy to change out implements w/o the need of tools and the workmanship to be as good or better than any of the other machines in it's class.

There are other brands that have gone to extensive plastic in their machines also.
Kubota has proven in the past that they will step up to the plate and make things right.
The fix ahouldn't be that far off.

The tractor does not need jacked up?! I've taken the mower decks off these about half a dozen times and have never felt like I needed to do this.

I was told the new fenders will start shipping around the end of the month. I have heard of a few guys just adding a simple piece of angle iron under the deck to support the fender. This also seems to work well.

I am a bit confused about the tone here? Other than a cracking fender there is not much to complain about with the new BX's. With the old ones it was an air filter strap and a crappy hood latch, now its a fender - which is being fixed. Its been a really good machine in my mind.

The mower leveling bolts above the slot stick up about 1" into the frame even when screwed all the way in. It would fine on a 2250 with the taller rubber. Maybe I have the wrong deck ???? My old Bx deck came out without jacking up the tractor. I also have a broken fender, unsafe control in reverse etc. The dealer and field rep have promised repairs when available. I do think it was rushed to market before being fully tested but that is a problem today with any first year model.

1) Reverse is so abrupt that you can pull the front end off the ground if you release it too quickly. Not as bad with a FEL, but on a steep hill it can be unsafe.
2) Crappy hood release-still not fixed.
3) Air screen or battery screen-what ever it is-the big one in front of your knees will not fit flush. Very tempted to duck tape the screen to the tractor-that will look professional won't it?
4) Cracked fender on left side.
I never had a single problem with my L3010. Kubota owners expect more-and this should be interpreted as a good thing. But in response the expectation has to be met.
