Ok, that I get. Didn't know the 1850 had shorter tires. Seems like you should be able to do something about that, though. hmm..another hole drilled lower on the shafts of the antiscalp maybe? C'mon...this is TBN...Lets fix it!!!

Read back a few, pics and all of my mods to make the thing work right in my mind.

Read on back; I have an 1850 which has shorter tires. Both models share the same mower now. I'm sure it will clear the frame on a 2350 due to the taller tires.

Can't you just lay a 2x6 or two down and park with the back wheels on it? Would that help?

Did you raise the scalp wheels the entire way up when you took the deck off? Which deck do you have? Standard or fine cut?

Per the manual the wheels go all the way down. If they are up the deck drags on the floor. It is a standard deck . If you read back a few you will see my fix for the problem. I would think any first year engineer could see this problem before the machine left the factory. I do not know why they put that useless set of holes in the wheel post.

For anyone else: my dealer has some of the new fenders in but not the seat recall parts.

No idea what youre talking about. I've removed my deck a dozen times for cleaning/blade sharpening...never had to jack up or lift my tractor do do it, and I have the new BX2350. You do have to wiggle the deck on the way out, but it's certainly not an inconvenience.

As a previous owner of a BX2200, I think that overall the BX2350 is a big improvement over an already excellent product. The hood latch is much better...take a really good look. (some tractors have no latch at all)

I drove a JD 2305, it also had a very abrupt reverse...I think the manufacturers are doing this on purpose...why I have no idea, but it must be due to some litigation.

The cracking fenders I have not experienced yet, but I'm hearing everywhere that they are standing behind it and improving it for the future, which is as much as anyone can expect.

If the fender issue is the only major thing that comes up, I'll be a happy guy. As far as fit and finish...while I understand to a point, this is mainly a tool for ...not a Lexus.

I don't own a Lexus-I drive an SL-and two Kubotas.

I expect excellence from both manufacturers. On the SL and the L3010 , I have no issues.

I have no problem bringing to the attention design flaws to either manufacturer. These machines are not cheap and neither are my expectations.

I wanted to bring this back to the top and find out if anybody had additional developements regarding the new replacement fender?

I've got 70 hrs now on my BX 24 and I cracked my rear fender (right side when sitting on the tractor - just above where the fender meets the metal floor) when I was just over the 60 hr mark. I was mowing grass, stopped the tractor/mower, dismounted to pick-up some debris in the yard, got back on and heard it crack - a quick look confirmed what I suspected.

I talked to my dealer about the fender right after it cracked and he was not aware of the issue. I was going to try and arrange for my seat recall work and replacement of the fender to happen at the same time but only once the new style replacement fender had been released for use.

Thanks,
Shane

Mine are broke on both sides....This machine is a grass cutting machine, but I have had to take it to the dealer 3 other times.....This will make the 4'th...I think I am going to sell and go green....I am disgusted with this machine??? Where do your temp guages run on the BX 1850's - 2450's....

I will be looking elsewhere for a tractor I can tell you that.

Jimmy,

If you don't mind me asking, what were the items needing fixed that made you take your BX back to the dealer 3 times?

Besides the fender and seat recall, the only other issue I've had on my BX 24 was a leaking battery.

Btw, my temp guage usually registers right in the middle or slightly above if a hot day and operating for hours at a time.

Mine runs closer to hot than middle. That is normal. It gets hot like any other tractor if it gets dusty or dirty. The normal temp is higher then I expected.
