Snow What is needed to attach snow blower?

I have just purchased my first tractor and other equipment. I have a Kubota L355 SS with a DUAL 110 FEL. As part of the deal I also got a Kubota L2052 snow blower. I am a novice as to tractors, but not to mechanical equipment in general.

The snow blower does not have any attachment hardware. It does have a short drive shaft but that is it. While I believe that I have a front PTO (not sure if it is same RPM as rear or exactly how to get to it/engage it) I don’t see how this drive shaft would attach to where I believe the PTO is located (front of engine?).

Can anyone tell me what I need to get to get this snow blower working? Pictures would be a great help if anyone can show me what they have.

Welcome.
No dealer involved here? Seems they would be anxious to help you get prepared for hooking up your snowblower.

Look for the midmount PTO under the tractor and just ahead of the transmission/differential.

Thanks for responding but my local Kubota dealer is about as worthless as they can be. I too thought they would be all over this wanting to sell me stuff. When I was shopping for my tractor (and zero turn mower) I stopped by to talk with them a couple of times and they could not have been less interested in helping me or selling me anything. I have stopped by twice trying to get these answers and they always say they will call me with what they can find, but of course, they don't. And what I don't get is they have a bunch of inventory being delivered regularly so they are selling stuff to someone. Must be a lot of people who like being treated poorly.

Anyway, I was hoping someone on here could give me some guidance and then I could order stuff on line. I have the parts manual for the snow blower and it does not show any of the attachment hardware so I am not sure where that stuff is listed.

Is a mid-mount PTO a standard item? I don't seem to have one that I can see.

No doubt your dealer wants nothing to do with a 1982 model year tractor.

Why don't you just go and order the various manuals for your tractor. A quick search of the Kubota Corp parts web site turned up these manuals (and all the important specs for your tractor):

Owner's Manual 35370-19716
Parts Manual 97898-20810
Engine Manual 97897-00661
Shop Manual 97897-11010

These manuals might also have info regarding you snowblower.

One more thing, if your tractor does not have a ROPS it is eligible for the Kubota ROPS safety program.

Thanks for those various numbers. I have the parts manual for both the tractor and snow blower but the others would certainly be helpful.

I think you may be right about the dealer preferring not to have to deal with a tractor as old as this one. But, some day I am going to need a replacement for this old one and they are not doing much to make me want trade up through them.

Again, today, I stopped by the dealer and they were a little more helpful. They still don't know what kit is used to install the blower and questioned whether it would even fit my old tractor.

We have determined that the blower has the female section of the front quick hitch system which they said meant the blower wasn't that old (but they could not find the L2052 listed on anything current which meant it was somewhat old - very conflicting). They weren't sure if the newer style quick hitch would fit on the older tractor. Plus, they said the drive would need to come from the mid-PTO, which I don't think I have. Again, not sure if there is any way of putting one on this tractor.

I saw a L3710 for sale. One of it's attachment was a L2052 snowblower. L3710's were built from 1998 until 2002. Should help with finding the parts list for the snowblower.
Have you tried any of the dealers that advertise on TBN?

I did a Yahoo search for L2052 snowblower to find this information.
Hope this info helps. You may be right that this snowblower requires a Mid-PTO. You may be able to find someone that wants to put it on newer B or L series tractor.

When i installed a b2650 on our b7500 i had to install a front subframe. It required drilling 2 3/4 inch holes through the loader mounts. ther'e is a 3 ft. shaft that runs from the front pto to a spindle that is part of the subframe,the other shaft runs from the front end of the spindle to the blower. Ther'e is also a front plate that the piston attaches to for raising and lowering the blower. We also paid out an additional $300. in custom welding to beef up the cutting edge and reinforce the driftknives. It kicks but now, blowing snow 50 feet @ 2500 rpm, however, it was far from commercial duty out of the box. If you do a seach i have a post her'e somewhere that goe's into greater detail on the specs. of the custom welding. Just for the record it took myself and a friend a long afternoon to get the subframe on and we for the mostpart know what we are doing.good luck, Scott.
