A valid complaint, but perhaps a decade or two too late? Are you also unhappy with the lodging they supply for your horse? Did they not have fill water available for your Stanley Steam car? :ROFLMAO:

I'd bet it's been at least a dozen years since I've even turned on a TV in any hotel room. Much easier to have all my regular content available thru iPad, iPhone, or laptop computer.
Up until about a year ago, a motel in Watseka, IL had a sign out front that touted "Touch Tone Phones". It had to be 40 years old wouldn't you think?

And by the way, most of those card holders in the room can be fooled with a piece of cardboard.
It also seems that in most of the hotels I've stayed, if a room service person notices you have a device plugged in and charging, they'll often leave a spare dummy card in the card holder to keep power on for me.

I'm an American, so I habitually over-tip for everything in Europe, where tips are less common or generous. So a few Euro's per person are left on the foot of each bed every day, whereas I suspect most there just leave a single tip at the end of their stay. I'm not going to notice the expense of just a few Euro's or dollars, and it does seem to get me better than average service! :D

I do the same thing with bartenders on my first drink. 😅

You tip the cleaning lady at a hotel? The tipping stuff has gotten so out of control, I really didnt know that was expected

Always have, and I’m not one who tips cashiers and other stupid unnecessary stuff. Usually $5 per night for single or double, more for big suites with the whole family. I figure that girl tidying the room has a bigger impact on my day than almost anyone else in my travels, and she needs the $5 more than me.

I'm just the opposite. I leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign up for the duration of my stay. I don't need or want someone coming in everyday to make my bed and clean the sink. They should leave ME a tip, because I saved them work!

I sometimes do this when traveling alone. But when kids or wife are with me, I use it as an excuse to make them pick up their crap every day. :ROFLMAO: I’m the sole organized person in a house of chaotic souls.

Cards you are issued at hotels. Many now also control the entire power to the room, cause they want you to put them in the reader to power the room. But these also give access to the stairs and the elevators. So I have to always have to have my card. But there has to be a card in the reader or the power will go out. So I want go out for a bit, and then we have to hunt for the wife's card, so she will have lights, and power and stuff to recharge the laps and phones and cameras. But if she wants to leave, the room, for even 10minutes, the room turns off. So I ask the desk if we can have more cards? And yes they say, yes, here you are. So when we leave for the day out to do stuff, I take the extra card out and place it near the reader to save energy. And everyday, the room service took that card, and I would have to ask for another one. And after three times, I just asked for more cards straight up on re-entering the hotel, cause I knew the old ones were gone and no reason to go back down to the desk to get the extra cards. First world issues... :)
I'll admit I don't stay in hotels that often, but will a couple times a year, most recently in Sept. Never have I run into this. Card as door key, but that's it.
One time about a year ago when I went to my room the tv was on with a welcome message for the person who'd booked the room (it was a work-related trip).

I agree, the problem I have with our Ford Edge, is that the lights dim at about 35 mph, they are designed that way. I guess the engineers don't drive at night on country roads with deer jumping out in front of them.
When you say dim, do you mean low beam or does it automatically reduce the headlights' output?
What's the reasoning behind this? Are they assuming that if you're going under 35 you're probably in town where there are street lights? Not just deer/moose/other wildlife, but some of the back roads around here are so rough you don't really want to go much over 35 anytime.
