I agree. The other week, while I was away, our entire master bedroom closet shelving pulled out of the wall. OF course, fixing it snowballed like most projects and involved completely repainting the closet.Drywall anchors, especially with kids living in a house that I didn't build I'm done with that junk forever. I'd rather use a router on a piece of 1x, paint it, to make aesthetically pleasing for my wife anyway. At least I can hit studs, and cover the holes caused by what the anchors were supposed to support in a perfect world i guess. Rants over.
It did make me make a mental note that if I ever build another house, I'm going to put additional blocking in the wall for attaching shelving.
