You might out run them, but you can't stay outrun a radio!
We have many areas where their radios don't work. Also, their SUVs and pickups have quite low (limited) top speeds.

On the other hand, they have no reason to chase me. It's much easier for them to just stop by at my place after the fact. Unless it's the officer's first day on the job and nobody have clued him/her in, they know who I am and where I live.

My vehicles all have these things hanging on front and back called "license plates." (Except my trailer, that one's hanging on the shed wall.)
It doesn't matter if I outrun them, my goose is going to be cooked.

Back when I was building fast cars (college years), our house was in town, and became sort of the rallying point and common shop for a lot of my buddies. One of the down sides to this is that whenever someone in town would call the police with a noise or speed complaint about someone in a loud or fast car, I'd come home to find the police waiting in my driveway.

Most of them knew me or my family, so it was always a friendly, "you guys gotta take it easy, so Mrs. X stops calling us." Then we'd apologize, shut it down for the night, and repeat the whole thing a week or three later. 🙃

Yeah, that's a bit like when I was leaving the greasy spoon in town, with my 300+ hp 2,000 lb. fun car and met three of the state police in the parking lot on their way in.

We BSd for a bit, but before I took off I went back in and asked them "How many of you guys are working today?" One answered "You're looking at it".

Good, I said, now I can drive home at a decent pace. And they all laughed.
There's a lot to be said for living in a rural area where most everybody knows each other, I think.

They knew damn well I was generally going way too fast...except in town where I never exceed the speed limit, and they apparently appreciated that.

People that drive really slow in the ultra fast lane, while people behind them are going insane.

They had to have been covered, both here and in other threads.

Still people keep doing it, so we will keep bringing it up!

When you give your lowest bid or price on something...and people want to haggle over it.
Yup, I tried that approach a long time ago, and finally realized you have to build in some wiggle room. It appears to be human nature for buyers to want to get some reduction in asking price, even when it is a great deal at full asking price. I,m programmed that way myself.

People who poke along on winding roads with few, if any places to pass. Seems like Suburu or toyota owners make up the lion's share of these.
That can certainly be an issue around here, but it was interesting when Colorado legalized pot. Then the Subarus were suddenly going unusually fast in the AM - only to slow to a crawl after having visited a dispensary.

People who speed in the morning going to work. I could never figure that out. I never wanted to go to work and was happy driving 50 in a 55.

Going home is another story....GET OUTA MY WAY. :ROFLMAO:

Here it is Subaru and Wrangler. I will damn near drive a family off the road, to get in front of any Jeep Wrangler, the single worst on-road vehicle ever built.

Subie drivers are just slow, almost universally, excepting the WRX kids.

<-- has owned Wranglers, but never a Subaru

When people would haggle the best price I could give them I would start to raise my price.
If they asked what I was doing I'd answer that if they could haggle so could I.
Usually after a laugh they would settle on my original price.
The ones that walked probably wouldn't have bought anyways.

Never really needing the money for any implement or item I'm selling, I usually just tell the seller to offer me whatever they think it's worth. Roughly 10 times out of 10, they offer more than I would've asked for, to begin with. When faced with the opportunity, most good people are too embarrassed to lowball someone, in my experience.

A relative was an EMT on the local air ambulance. He says that his biggest customers were bikers. Second biggest was Jeep drivers.

I would have put ATV'ers/snowmobile riders (especially inexperienced ones on rental units) pretty high on that list. Seems hardly a week goes by without an accident or three with them with excessive speed and/or unfamiliarity with the trails/equipment a major contributing factor.
Hikers are right up there too, again inexperienced ones who are woefully unprepared for conditions in the White Mountains.

Prices stay the same, but quantities are being downsized. I just bought a bottle of 15g gorilla glue. It came sealed only half full. Start looking closely at different products that you can see thru, you might be surprised. Even worse for products that you cann,t see into like potato chips.

My MIL worked as an ER nurse in the great lakes snow belt. She saw at least one snowmobiler almost fully-decapitated by livestock fencing. I had a buddy hit a deer at high speed on another.

But the total man-hours communally spent on snowmobiles every year is so many orders of magnitude below automobiles, that it's no surprise their total numbers remain low.

One thing I really hate is vendors who use a third party tracking program for shipping orders, so that you have to log into your account with them to check on tracking.
There is no reason that they can't give you the tracking #.
