Just the usual CYA to keep the legal department happy. I assume it was just an “are you over 18?” pop up, and not something actually asking for certification?

There was a very brief window of time, ca.2005, when I was buying a lot of my ammo (by the pallet, they could fork lift it straight into my pickup truck) at Cabella’s. I also bought one of my gun safes there, when their supplier had a big tent sale in their parking lot. But they’re almost always way more expensive than other options, on almost all things. I guess those fancy stores aren’t cheap to build!

It should say something, when local mom and pop gun stores can sell ammo by the flat (250 shells) for less than the big corporation buying and selling in bulk (5000+ shell
If you don't say that you are over 18 it boots you off the website. I've had it happen when looking at camping gear and at fishing equipment.

Edit: they must have changed it. I just went to both sites mentioned above and it allowed me to stay there. I was even able to look at 10/22 rifles... Not that I need yet another .22 in the house.

I was in the mood to watch an old war movie the other day and "Run Silent, Run Deep" came over the transom (pun intended) on YT as "Free With Ads", so I clicked on it. YT came back with this BS:

Quite irritating. In the good old days, it was on TV every other week. Not like it's Debbie Does Dallas or something....

Today's peeve...prices!
When I try to order something and it says "see price when you add it to your cart". That usually means it's twice the price it should be.
It's like people who have a car for sale, all this information posted in window except the price. You have to call them to get that!

I agree Fuddy, if a price isn,t listed, it is usually because they are usually to embarassed to post it, hoping some sucker will buy it at a ridiculous price once hooked. I usually pass right on by those types of listings.

Had the worst luck ordering anything online which I seldom do anyway.

In stock and in basket and click to pay and out of stock message appears.

Had that happen at a used car lot when I was looking at trucks last summer. Not only was there no price listed, the salesman wouldn't tell me the price! All I got was questions on how much I could afford for payments. When I told him it would be a cash sale, both he and his manager started pressuring me to buy it on credit. Needless to say, I walked out.

New peeve, this just started today. I will start writing a post, about halfway through my browser resets and it disappears. It's probably on my end, my $100 refurbished Razor might be starting to get tired.

Old salesman trick: Say something at the end of each sentence to get people to agree with you. Words like "OK" or "right?". People's natural instinct is to affirm what you are saying, even if they don't agree with you, they still give a positive response because in their mind they are just saying they heard you.

But what is really happening is the person is getting you used to answering positively to what they are asking so you are more likely to say yes to what they want.
