What is the best compact ever built and why?

The best is the tractor the starts and runs. Then you take it out and you do the work that you need!

Cool website, Bob - it's bookmarked. If I searched this board, I'd probably find some answers on the grey market brands forum, but can you get Shibaura parts for Ford tractors? My understanding is that my '79 1700 was completely manufactured by them, so I assume parts other than just for the engine should be available. Am I right?

Also, any chance of getting a peek at that tractor you built?

The AC-"B" is great, as is the JD-"L". Others are/were out there too. But, none were as prolific as the Cub.

One of the other cool ones is that AC-"G". It's so ugly it's beuatiful/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I'm suprized no one has mentioned the Ford 2N, 8N, or 9N. There's plenty of those still around running as good as ever.

Heck I don't even know what a compact is. A ford 2n might be considered a garden tractor in some localities.

As far as the best ever built, there sure are a lot of 8Ns out there still running and working hard. That says a lot for them.

Yes..the Fords and how about the Ferguson 35's a lot of those around too.
