What is the difference between independent and live PTO?

You can engage and disengage the pto at any time without having to use the foot clutch,
many independent pto's have a brake built in to slow down the powered implement.
This also greatly reduces the need for an over running pto clutch.
.

Actually one needs to be very careful when operating machines such as rotary mowers to lower pto speed to idle before disengaging pto to help reduce wear on pto brake. In this application an ORC would come in handy to help reduce wear on pto brake.

Branson must have done the "linked" different for many models. My linked is tied to the foot "clutch" operation on the 8050, I use the link and foot pedal to more gently engage our tedder as just turning the switch on ratchets the slipclutch. Also on my tractor you have to actuate the 3 point once every time you start the tractor for the pto to engage. I have read and heard that on many models it ties into the 3 point operation.

Yea you have a real farm tractor, with gears. Your diff lock pedal is probably useable without contortions too!
There's no engine to transmission clutch on the 3725H. The PTO clutch engages softly but it's a fixed rate, you can't slip the clutch manually. Since the PTO switch is on the right fender I can operate it from the side and throttle up / down too. It's handy when I turn the chipper off in the middle of a chipping session to go pull more brush over. I don't have to leave the tractor and chipper running at full speed. There's a position switch on the PTO rocker shaft to detect up and down.

I'm still amazed in this modern day that manufactures still offer Live PTO when independent PTO is just so much easier safer to work with
If a Tractor did not have Independent PTO I would quickly move on to the next one.

No seeders. planters or spreaders for you then.

Some implements not only want a solid lockup, they want to be driven according to ground speed.

Select based on need is a good option,
