I actually thought the same thing when I first looked at the BX's on Kubota's website. There is a poor translation of scale when viewing the BX pictures on their website, or on ebay, the internet, etc. The optical illusion gives the impression that is is only slightly larger than the typical lawn tractor available at HD or Lowes. However, if you look at a BX in person, you will realize it's *MUCH* larger in person. When I first walked into the Kubota dealer and looked at it, the difference was astounding.
As a reference of scale, the front tires on my
BX23 are the same size as the rear tires on my Craftsman lawn tractor. The rear tires on my
BX23 are larger than the tires on my Toyota pickup (typical 26" dia car tire). And the entire
BX23 is about the same size as my Toyota Hilux pickup (pre Tacoma), and weighs the same too, and cost more as well. Franly also, the
BX23 is alot more fun than the Toyota too.
Also, the BX is slightly larger than the older small frame B series machines. My
BX23 is larger than my friend's
B6000, which is about the same size as a
B7100, and similar. The BX tire diameters are smaller, but the machine itself is larger and heavier.
The golf course I normally go to has several
M4900's. They are relatively large. Probably the same size as an F250/F350, as a reference of scale.
