John, I didn't know any of those kind still existed. The one I knew about 38 years ago belonged to the apartment managers where we were the assistant managers. And one room of their apartment was the office, so with people coming and going, doorbell ringing, phone ringing, etc., you never knew what that TV was going to do. So after a month or so, the store where they bought it agreed to take it back and give them one without a remote control. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm amazed at how many things that crossed my mind at first didn't qualify as having been a product of the past twenty years. I guess I'd have to go with the advent of home internet connnections for the common man. To convert that to a product I'd have to go with PC modems for everyman.

EXCLUDING the wonderful, amazing products that have been developed for medical uses, i would have to say the PC. has been a long time that any one product has had such a great impact on the world as a whole.

I gotta go with Frank on this one. It's a fun thing to think about the choices but I think the Personal Computer wins hands down. Everything else exciting spawned from that, not to mention it changed the world as we know it. Remember that for most of us at least, the Internet came next.

It seems that almost everything I/we can think of has been around longer then the 20year window. I would say the best product of the last 20 years are the youth that are taking the stuff we already have, and making it better, and cheeper.

With all the talk of problems with the kids these day, you tend to forget that there are some real smart kids out there, working on a lot of stuff, and making it better. With all the stuff that my, and earlyer genarations have made, they will be only stepping stones to what will happen in the next 20 years. With computers, normal people can do in one day, what a gifted person may have taken a week, or a month to do. Just imange what a gifted person of today can do.
