I roll my drag harrow up, put a chain with hook around it...(to keep it together and for lifting), and deposit it on a plastic pallet. In fact, I have all my stuff on plastic pallets...since they don't rot.

I have an 8x8 section of this harrow i got thru JD dealer a few years ago... about $300.

It works great at knocking down the horse apples on the 10 acre pasture.

Mine is stored in my carriage barn . I remove the front drag bar and try my best to pile the rest in as small of pile as possible so it takes up very little space. I thought about hanging it once...but MAN is this thing heavy

I have borrowed mp neighbors chain harrow a few times to break up manure piles in my pasture. His is 10X10. I want to buy my own 8ft. wide unit, and noticed that some are only 4ft. long. How long do they need to be to work well?

Thanks, Bill

i have only used the 8' long variety. but i can tell you that it rolls the piles around alot while it breaks them up. So the shorter the thing is the less it will break and spread

just by my own observations. Also use early before the main pasture grasses start to emerge. It really helps allow the grasses to sprout
