What is this?

In all honesty..............it looks like some kind of tool for cutting dirt from the sides of a ditch maybe?:)
Look at your terrain......what could it have been used for.

It looks similar to the angled drags that they use at the tractor pulls for pulling dirt back into the tire ruts.

Do your neighbors flood irrigate???

Looks kinda like a dike hiller but the draw bar has me stumped as it's in the wrong position. The "tail wheel" looks like a marker of sorts..... Is there a way to "adjust" the hitch to different angles?

Other than that..... well ya the pizza cutter idea has some merit:eek:lol

If you can figure out what it is,it'll probably come in handy.

It's your 'special purpose' tool. You know 'that thing-a-ma-jig-what-cha-callit'. But it needs a couple a parts (just little ones you could make but it wouldn't a be 'riginal then). And it's real old and a collectors item.

Because I only seen one persons answer that is close, I'll let you know that it is a very old ditch cleaner. I've seen several, that one's pretty bad shape.
Long piece goes to bottom of ditch. The short one furrow's silt, grass out. It was pulled by hitch at front, and adjusted by mostly missing pieces in between both pieces of iron.:D

Except for the "wheel" it is almost exactly like the ditch cleaners I've seen in irrigation areas. One side of the cleaner runs in the bottom of the V-shaped ditch to position the implement while the other side with the cutting edge acts as a grader blade on one side of the ditch. At the end, turn around and go back to do the other side.

Terracing/ dike plow. I saw several in Hastings Florida on the tater farms there. I also have a few pictures that an old book on farm machinery had on how to construct one just like that one from scrap materials to build teraces and dikes. It showed how to weld it from found parts. The eye in landslide and moldboard where they meet is the main pull line then the other linkage was to be hooked into it with a sheave ande something else to help offset the pull. THat kept it tracing in the ditch and the coulter wheel helps hold the tail in the ground.

Simply Amazing.... You folks are a wealth of knowledge. As rusted as this is, I doubt that it can be restored... but then again.... who would want to? Thanks for the replies
