Hello all,

I just purchased a Kubota BX2680 with a 60" MMM. I have a few questions.

#1: When running the mower with ear plugs in, I hear and feel a vibration that ebbs and flows, but is not constant. Anyone ever have this problem?

#2: I have my height adjustment set at 4", but it is measuring 3". Is there something I can adjust to get the extra height?

#3: After spending 3.5 hours mowing, I think I need new kidneys. Is there an air ride seat available for this tractor?

#4: When mowing today, I found a rubber bushing in the lawn. It looks brand new, like it fell off the tractor. I am including a pic. If anyone knows what it is, that would be great.

Thanks for your time
Dave

#1 Is normal. My BX2200 with the MMM does the same thing. I think it has to do with it being right underneath the tractor. When I run something like my flail mower from the rear PTO, it feels different.
#2 Yes, on the lift linkages, there are adjustments. Look at where you disconnect it from the tractor lift arms underneath.
#3 Not that I'm aware of. But I'm sure others on here will chime in.
#4 It could be from the seat or something left behind from manufacturing or assembly.

#3 grin and bear it, or sloooooow down. Others have said let air out of tires, though I’ve not tried it yet. My yard is not a “lawn”, and is very bumpy, with roots, dirt, etc... everywhere. I’ve learned where the few spots are that I can accelerate.

A handful of people have put Granmar seats on their various machines. 90% sure the upgraded air ride seat I got with my new L4060 is a Granmar. They tend to mostly deal with OEMs i hear so you can have a bit of a harder time finding one to look at. I'm pretty sure most of all Kubota CUTs & probably SCUTs use the same bolt pattern for the seats. So if you find the seat model somebody else used it's likely to fit.

I like the air ride on my L4060 & its inherently smoother because its bigger & heavier. Really glad I sprung for the upgrade even though it cost an arm & a leg. Cheap compared to my Dr bills for my bad back over the years though.

I had the same back problem and bought a contoured gel and foam pad which works well except it was a bit too slippery and had you sliding around, a piece of non slip rubber mesh cured that.
I got mine of Ebay AU but I'm sure you can get the same thing, cost me about $18.
If you are feeling wealthy there is the Airhawk brand of gel seat pads that come in at around $150-200.
The one I have has a cutout at the rear for the coccyx and while it doesn't seem much it makes a big difference and I can go a few hours without any discomfort.

Have you determined what the rubber washer is from? I recently found the exact same thing directly in front of my parked ZD331.
The mower has 900 hours, but the ring looks brand new.

Nope, I sent the pic to my salesman, and he had the service people look at it. They don't know what it is.

Mine is 1-3/4” outside diameter, 1-3/16” inside diameter, and just over 0.5” tall. Probably should have measured it in metric. I may go to a parts manual and see if I can find anything.
Good luck, and please report back if you find out what its for!

Is it possible that it might be some shipping isolator to keep painted surfaces from rubbing? Since they don't seem to show any wear and don't seem to have anything holding them captive it's hard to think of any other application.

Well I fixed the seat problem. I bought a Grammer MSG65. I have yet to mow with it, but it is much more comfortable.

My lawn is field grass that I've mowed for the 36+ years I've been here. Just slow down and take it easy. I know if I try to go fast - its like riding a wild kanaroo.

If it hasn't already been noted in the thread somewhere, it's a fuel tank cushion, go to kubotausa.com/parts and select illustrated parts list and follow thru to your model number and fuel and you will get a pic of where they go

Probably want to glue them in place with a good contact adhesive to retain them, also check to see if the mounting bracket is bent.

Thanks 100 td, I never would have figured out what it was.

Thanks! I must have skipped over the fuel system diagram... for my application (zd331) there are 6 of them.

Don't be too sure. At least on all the small Kubotas I've been around there are rubber cushions that look about like that one on top of the springs under the seat. Sometimes they stick to the seat, sometimes to the springs, sometimes they probably fall off. Take a look and see if it fits the seat spring OR whether it is really from under the fuel tank. I cannot tell for sure by your picture which it is.

How comfortable is the seat itself? I know the air suspension helps I'm just trying to figure out if the actual Grammar seat gives enough support compared to the OEM. Ideally I'm looking for a comfy cloth covered seat, I hate the rubberized ones.

BTW my OEM M59 Kubota seat is a 1/10 for comfort. I've ridden antique tractors with cast iron seats that are more comfortable. I feel like I'm constantly sliding off while riding the jack hammer...

I'm thinking of putting an air ride seat on my M59 as well. But the stock seat can be made much more comfortable with a $10 trip to the hardware store.
Here's what I did to mine. Raised it up and added some rubber spacers.
