This is neat use for zip ties:

In the past, I've lost more than a few Lynch pins and hitch pins while operating the tractors.

Most of the implements are setup for use with a Quick Hitch - so lots of Lynch pins.

I started using white tie wraps (zip ties) to loop them closed and don't trim the ends.

They help keep the pins intact and it makes for a quick visual to see if any are missing while working.

Buy them at Harbor Fright and they're way cheaper than replacing Lynch pins...and take no room in the tractor tool box if I need to cut and replace one.

What's wrong with people who insist their way is the only right way to do something?

Someone else's zip tie habits have a GAF factor approaching zero for me. I only read this thread because it seemed so adamant that I figured I would learn something I didn't know about zip ties...if I am zip tying something it is because it is quick (zip). I certainly don't want to go back and make them look pretty. If that was the important factor, maybe I would use something else to fasten things.
What's wrong with people who question what's wrong with people who insist their way is the only right way to do something? :)

Just kidding! These threads are fun and I've actually learned a couple things about "zippies".

I found a spool of florist wire in my dad’s stuff after he passed. He used it for staking tomatoes I think. It has come in handy so many times where a zip tie would be overkill. Pretty strong for such a tiny coated wire.

The cover wouldn't stay on the pedestal fan so I secured it with zip ties. Because I was afraid the grandkids would get cut on the corners after I TRIMMED THEM, I MADE SURE THEY WEREN'T SHARP. Last week my 7 year old grandson was caught trying to cut the ties off. He said he wanted to do something to the blades he'd seen on YouTube. His dad has now taken him off of YouTube for a week.
