My uncle would always say. "If I was any better I'd have to take something for it"!
The other day on a conference call at work someone asked how I was doing and I said, in a moment of country boy roots flashback, "oh fair to Middlin"! She started laughing and said boy I haven't heard that one in years. But she had heard it and it tickled her to hear it in that setting.
I'm not going to hide my inner country roots any longer. I for some reason thought that corporate america wouldn't respect me if they knew my lineage. I think I was wrong; people respect your character and integrity for the most part; at least the ones that matter.
