Tanks!

I'd say I enjoy firewood harvesting the most.

I enjoy the tree cutting, the splitting, the stacking, all the really difficult parts of it, but the easiest part...cleaning up the little branches and twigs etc off the lawn....isn't something I want to do. Like "this is p***ant little stuff, hardly worth the bother...."

I've got around 2-3 years worth home now. Don't like being that far ahead, but wanted to beat any Emerald Ash Borer restrictions, we don't have them yet but they're coming! :( ~~ grnspot

Deer hunting without a doubt. All my wood is put away by this time, I work on it all summer.

Papa Perk I use about 25 bu. anymore just enough for when the wife and I are around after work. The kids are in college, just out , or in business with a little one of their own. When the kids were home we used about 125 bu. and heated 24 hr. with corn. Of course I had to buy the extra corn but it was 2 dollars bu. at that time.We grow triple stack as we are lucky enough to get the leftover seed corn from a local farmer and LUCKY is the word as it is very pricey.
We have a wooden corn sheller that I rigged with an electric motor and I have a good time shelling it.We pick it by hand and use our 6ft. trailer pulled by our homemade tractor to haul to the shed for shelling, its fun and very efficient.

The very last thing we do before freeze up, is to dig up, grind and process horseradish. It's not really all that pleasant making it, but it sure is good. Much better than anything you can buy. We make around 5 to 6 gallons of finished product, and we have a large following of horseradish lovers. When that job is done, then I know that the hard work is done for the year, and now I can relax for a few months.

Yeah, that's a twig for sure!

It probably weighs more than my tractor. :)

We are fortunate that our wood lot is 9 miles away. All the mess stays out there. The only task I do at home is split and stack. The cleanup of that just takes a rake and my yard cart. Its been raining so much here every weekend I haven't had much of a chance to get out yet. Hope it clears up before the snow flies.

I don't have just one favorite thing. For me, the favorite thing to do in the fall is all the projects I put off all summer because it was too hot to do them.

Anything that gets me outside is enjoyable this time of year - and yes that includes leaf clean up. I really enjoy the Fall colors. I guess it is the "Grand Finale" before the dull, black and white landscape of Winter.
