Regarding too much wood, I owned a house that had mahogany and birdseye maple walls, flame wood and mahogany dowled floors, gumwood doors, oak staircases and cedar lined closets. I was afraid to do much of anything to it, but it fetched a pretty penny when I sold it.

Anyone ever change a headlight bulb on a newer Chevy Malibu?

I thought, by all the horror stories on the internet that it was going to be an afternoon job. You have to take the bumper cover off, for crying out loud. Anyhow, I found an excellent youtube video, watched it twice, and even though I had to remove a dozen bolts, a bunch of plugs, turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock twice, and pry the bumper cover from the fenders, change the bulbs (I changed all 4 since I was in there), then put it all back together, it was only a 20 minute job and not anywhere near the horror stories a bunch of people were whining about in multiple car forums.... suck it up people! It ain't that hard.

Fog light on my lady friends Kia Soul. Did it when the tire was off for seasonal change. Had to take all kinds of stuff apart. Junky plastic fasteners not meant to be reused! A few months later, the light is out again!

Ever change a turn signal switch? If the one on your suburban goes out I recommend just installing toggle switches on the dash.

If manufacturers are going to design vehicles like that, those items should be under lifetime warranty, no cost to the end user.

There aren't any jobs out here that I truly hate. There are those that aren't as much fun as others. But ALL have to be done and I'm the only one out here.

Now that everything is dry as popcorn - mowing the lawns isn't so much fun. MASSIVE dust clouds. But now I only mow about once every ten days.

Soon the little lake will be warm enough to swim. That will make up for less pleasant jobs.

Anything in the crawl space. Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, insulation...

I'll second that. The older I get the more of a pain it is to move around in a small space.

Should have kept your Impala :D. Or was this for a relative/friend?

Still have the Impala. One screw and one plastic clip and the whole assembly comes out. The Malibu belongs to one of our children.

Yes. I got an entire used steering column from a junkyard. That was easier!
