What jobs do you hate?

Shoveling gravel out of the back of a truck wears me out.

I don’t mind painting walls especially in a new construction. Having to brush around the top and painting ceilings suck. All the prep work sucks worse. Filling nail holes, cleaning, taping trim, putting down drop cloths takes way longer than painting.

You can come visit me any time and stay as long as you like. I'll give you as much painting as you can take.

And if MossRoad stilol doesn't have enough painting to be happy, I have only to paint the inside of my house. He's sure welcome here anytime! Like D2Cat, I also hate painting. I bought the paint, rollers, brushes, etc. but still I've put my painting task off for 3 years.

Spreading mulch hay over freshly dug ditches.

If lugging bales of hay in the back of a tractor trailer is not bad enough; with the slippery chaff on the floor, the high heat, the loud haybale blower going, it is just the fact that we are using perfectly good hay, to cover dirt, that gets blown off it when the next big truck zooms by.

For some reason, I really enjoy painting. We did our kitchen this spring, painting over old wood paneling. Lots of trim had to be removed/masked. Scrubbed down the walls with TSP substitute. Primed two coats and painted two coats.

The last three nights after work wife and I have been painting our deck by the pool. Just turn on the music and off you go. :thumbsup:

Painting.
A few years ago I painted our great room, 20x30 with stairs, angles, trim, lots of furniture. I got everything moved and ready, then I started. After a few minutes a panic attack set in.
Now we don't drink...but I drove a few miles to the ABC store, got a bottle of cheap whiskey. I washed a couple tranquilizers down, whiskey and Pepsi...a big glass.
I hate heavy metal rock , so I put the stereo on that...wide open.
It got painted and it turned out great...but it's a wonder I'm alive!
Today I painted these two dutch doors. No problem, it was fine...but a big room...aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

Last week I painted the trim on the north side of my barn. I keep a master to-do list, and when I add something to the list I put the date I added it. I had added "paint trim on north side of barn" in 2007.

It was in pretty good shape, so I actually felt vindicated in waiting, I figure I'm twelve years ahead on the next repaint. Next week I'm doing the south side!

I like most jobs with buttons, switches and knobs, even better if theres a motor and steering wheel. But house maintenance, I hate that, and like most here, I hate painting, no wonder everyone has gone vinyl, I get paint on everything I touch and on me, then a two tone house is an added challenge. I built this add on pantry 4 years ago, finally getting some paint on now, using California Storm solid stain, the front was painted 2011 with the same stain.
