Dealer told me it's roughly $1k difference between a CK35 and DK40.

Ken's right, there is waaay more tractor here than $1,000. Dealer definately has a DK40 on the lot he wants to move. You might have a chance to be the lucky recipient! :thumbsup:

Road travel is another one that needs the extra hp. These tractors are heavy for the hp they have and I found my CK30 struggled in high range with even a slight hill. They're usually a couple $K from each other and it sounds like your dealer has a DK40 in stock to sell you and no CK35 and would have to order it. You'd never sell a CK35 if they were that close in price. I've had a CK and they're great, but there's a lot more in the DK other than what most people think of (FEL, hp, frame size). Draft control, independent automatic electronic PTO, standard remote, more gauges, more features etc, etc, etc. These alone are worth much more than the $1K difference your dealer is quoting.

He actually had both. The CK was heavily discounted because he took a failed dealers inventory. Even with the additional discounting the difference was about $3k. BTW, I sign the papers on the DK tomorrow.

..as I suggested... if a CK27 isn't fast enough or have enough PTO, then step up to a DK.
The extra 3-5 HP in the 30 or 35CK isn't likely to
make much difference to you. You probably need the larger tractor.

For PTO tasks, the CK35 will get things done a bit faster than the CK27. For all other work, the CK27 will be just as fast, or no noticeable difference. If the difference is only $1K, and you can handle the larger platform, then the DK40 is a no brainer. Best buys are still the CK27 gear, CK35HST, or the CK40 HST. I would think the cost difference between a CK27 gear and the DK40 would be in the $3-4K range. Now you are talking significant money difference. All are good tractors. So, buy what makes you happy
