We have 4 retired racing greyhounds - 2 sets of littermates:
Pair # 1 - Brucie and Bumper
Pair # 2 - Omie and Squirt
Amazing disposition and personality on retired greyhounds - they really know nothing about being a pet before adoption - but their caveat is they shouldn't be off leash without being fenced in. Hit top speed (45 mph) in less than 5 strides so there's no catching them if they decide to run. You would have to wait and hope they decide to come back.
We have two. Xena is German Shepherd Dog that we got from a local GSD rescue. Hercules, is a shepherd mix from the pound. Hercules is a happy smiling all the time social dog. Xena was not socialized early on; only after a couple of years is she really coming in to her own although she is still afraid of anyone but my wife and I. She is not as afraid of other now but still will not allow anyone else to pet her etc.
We have bird dogs and they are house dogs. One german short-hair and one English pointer,my son has five English Pointers and a springer. Our dogs earn their way,we own a uplands preserve.
We live with 2 Keeshonds. I hesitated to say that we own them because it is impossible to own such good friends. Take a look at my avatar if you are not familiar with a Kees ... I used to tell my Cassie (gone for a little over a year now) that she was the best dog! Remember, that was only my humble opinion and yours may differ! Dogs rock!!
