I don't care too much about newer years as long as they don't have all of the electronic everything .

You will be limited to 24.9 HP if you want anything new without electronics. I know the Kubota L2501 is made specifically to get around the 25hp limit for emissions stuff. JD has a similar model & I expect others do as well.

The 40 & 60 series grands have a lot of electronics. Not sure on the 30 series grands & if they have anything in the way of electronics. So you'd be looking at a 10ish year old machine for a grand. The economy 00 series was in production until a couple years ago & was all mechanical injection. 32-40 something HP there.
