I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.

Good comment. Here's an attempt at putting it back on the rails.

I think Kubota has created and defined the CUT market. It's good to be king of the hill.

It's also good that up and comers like LS and Kioti are challenging the king. Competition is good for the consumers in terms of price, quality and features. Kubota (and Deere) will be complacent at their own peril.

Why do you say that when there were lots of little tractors from Asia especially Japan that did very well - Yanmar, Shibaura, and Iseki, to name a few.

It seems in the U.S., Kubota has been the dominating contender in the small CUT market.

I will kind of concede your point. I owned a 15hp 2 cylinder grey market Shibaura that was tough as nails. I currently own 2 New Hollands that are Shibaura beneath the blue paint. There are tons of Yanmar CUTs that are painted John Deere Green. Those were good tractors, but hidden under their master's paint. Kubota was out there loud and proud promoting small tractors.

I should have more properly said Kubota created and defined the US CUT market. I remember when there were ads for Kubota and Yanmar in Popular Mechanics, but Deere kind of made Yanmar go away. I think Kubota committed to the CUT consumer and they consequently earned their US market share.

I don't begrudge them that, but I like that Kioti and LS are keeping them honest.
