Both are priced the same in michigan with loaders for around 22k. I am assuming either one will work. i have a Kubota 2710 HST which i will trade in, or sell i don't know why because the Kubota dealer told me my tractor will outperform them both and i believe it. It runs like a swiss clock it is the most amazing machine, it is incredible. That should probably tell me what to buy. I guess i just want a new tractor it's like 3 years old now. any suggestions?? mine is a 4 cylinder these tractors are 3. does that matter at all?

The four cylinder engine is probably smoother than the 3 cyl. If it runs so well, and is only 3 years old, I think you'd be foolish to trade it and will find you're unhappy later.
Many people would almost kill for a tractor like that, only 3 years old. That said though, if you want a new one, you just do.

Go find you a new implement, add top and tilt to the hitch, or something like that to give your tractor, and you, a newer feeling. Maybe that will satisfy your itch, because you just don't need to rid yourself of a great tractor only to buy something that may not be as satisfyingly wonderful. Maybe you can add a toothbar to loader if you don't have one? Buy a tiller, and some disc bedders. Anything to give you that thrill of the new toy. A 3830 size machine will certainly do more than what you have now, if it is brute force work that needs to be done. Do you need more than you have?

In my case, buying something bigger would not make sense and while I used to think I wanted something bigger, I came to my senses and now realize that I would really lose, rather than gain, if I went bigger with the amount of property I have and what will need to be done from this point forward.
I doubt that your tractor or mine would out perform the larger Kubota or JD though...unless it is due to the larger tractors not being able to get to where the work is, for whatever reason...

What do you want to do with the new tractor that you can't do with the one you have? don't make sense to me if the dealer tells you you don't need it, and your father asks the same question then i guess i am just /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
wow!! those are all great ideas I can't belive you guys are this much helpful. i defenetely would like more attachments I barely ahve anything.!!!!!!!!I live on 10 acres, i have a small pond. i use it to mow and move dirt. The only problem i have is it sometimes stalls when trying to move too much dirt, or it will stall trying to lift too much dirt, that's all. i only use it around the house. Like i said the dealer told me this tractor will outperform those other bigger ones due to the fact that the bigger tractor have more weight to move around and use more horepower. I don't know!! You guys probably know how it is with getting something new. Especailly when you just paid something off!!!!!!!!!lol
I forgot to mention, I also push a lot of snow (Michigan) and it sometimes when it is a lot, it has a hard time and it also has a hard time driving through a lot of snow. I thought a bigger tractor might not do that, that's why i wanted a new and bigger one. that's all.

I like green ones myself but my brother has a L3830. I don't think you'd be able to stall that tractor lifting a pile of dirt.

Samaras, sounds to me like you really have a need for a bigger tractor. No matter what you add to the small tractor you have now it is still going to be a small tractor, and the lift capacities are not going to change.

What Samaras needs is to spend a lot of time on TBN reading up on how to use his tractor to it's best advantage. He only has a rear blade and a finish mower that he's used at times for a brush hog (bent the blades), at this point, no other attachments, and doesn't really have a lot of experience using it for other things yet. I think we can all help him learn what to do to get what he needs out of the tractor he has. He doesn't really need a larger tractor for his 3 acres ( I think that's what he told me he has).
He seems like a great guy and was excited to find all the great info on TBN. John
