Thank you all, Yes John i have 3 acres to mow, I have 10 total. Today, the JD dealer delivered a brand spanking new JD 3520 to my house to try it out and they are picking it up tommorow. I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE IT! partsman you will not believe it either. My B2710 outpermormed the JD in everyway possible except lifting ( it definetely lifts a lot more) . I am AMAZED...The jd got stuck more, IT ROLLS OVER with the smallest move and it is extremely difficult to operate, anyway that is my opinion. i am sure others will say that the JD 3520 is the ultimate machine. I have 27 horse compared to 37, the jd did stall twice under load, just like mine does. Oh! it was difficult to perate because the seat was too high for me and I couldn't reach the pedals. I am 5'9". when I moved the seat forward to reaCH the pedals I couldn't reach the pedal that locks the rear wheels. Anyway my neigbor said the JD are made for farmers, he goes "have you seen the farmers they are all big" lol

There's just nothing like trying out a tractor on your own turf. Being able to compare it directly with your own was a big plus, and I'm glad you got to see that your own tractor is a great piece for you. Now you can get out there and start adding to your attachments and have all kinds of new fun. Don't forget, there are lots of people on here willing to help with any questions.
John

Samaras,

It sounds to me like you should keep the B2710. Kubota makes a fine machine and if it's what you like then you should stick with it.

BTW, I "resemble" the remark about the farmers. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

i always said it has been incredible. i wanted to try a bigger one to see if it will not get stuck and if it will not stall. it turned out it did both and tips over sooooooooo easy, even with no load. Thank you both. John i tried to call you, your phone was busy. i couldn't wait to tell you the results. That thing does lift a ton though, i did like that. But that was the only thing.

I'm 5'8" / 178lbs and I have no trouble whatsoever reaching the peddles and the diff. lock from the seat of our 4120...which is a larger tractor than the 3520, but same style. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Familiarity is almost as strong as change is frightening /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

An old engineer I used to work with would say that (or something close to it) about other old engineers. He always followed it with “if it isn’t broken don't fix it” though so...

I'm 6'2" and my wife is 5'. We both operate our new 3520 very comfortably. She moves the seat all the way forward and cranks down the seat suspension. I move it all the way back and crank it up. Now if this thing only had a memory function like her minivan it would make this switch over completely painless.

I own a L3010 Kubota and have been using it in landscaping for 5 years along with use on the farm, and that's a small compact, but with a good operator it will move some dirt. The big shortcominng I see is loading a tandem truck or a 2 ton with tall sides. The 3010 will load bales of tobacco but useless for pallets or logs of any size. If you want a bulldozer buy a big used skidsteer or better yet buy a 941 cat or 931 looking at maybe 15-20k if you really shop. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif In the last 6-8 months we have added a 4600JD and a L4630 cab which gets delivered today hopefully /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif S250 bobcat as well. We use the bobcat for all the grading now.

Samaras glad you had a chance to discover that bigger is always better. I have a TC33D and on occassion I think I would like a larger tractor but I wouldn't be able to do a number of the things I am able to do with the more nimble machine. Perhaps a snowblower would be helpful in the winter and they are alot less money than a new tractor.

It's your money, but if the 2710 is paid for, and I had ten acres I would keep it. If it stalls a little so what, just take a smaller heap of dirt or smaller bite of snow as you plow.

I was going to get the 3130, but I got a good deal on the 3430, as the dealer said the first year or two I will wish I had more power, but once the 'big' work is done I will have the right size machine.

I think your 2710 is a great size tractor for 10 acres.
