You sure you're just on coffee. That's one wired up post.

I count 31 scary, pointed questions in the first two paragraphs... many multi-faceted... several potentially life-altering! That's only seven less than my paranoid attorney came up with for similar work. Not that they aren't valid or worth considering, but if we thought about everything in those terms we would never leave the safety of our beds, let alone climb aboard a deadly, dangerous tractor. :( People die on tractors every day ya know!!! :(

I would only add to the list fears of global warming, Al Gore, the IRS, ROPS failing, falling in the shower while cleaning up afterwards, bird flu and nuclear war. :( Not worth it for $200.00... or even $500.00! Tell those folks with the stump "No way" and go back to the safety of your bed!!!

There are a lot of negatives posted, but I don't mean to give the impression you shouldn't do it. I just don't want you to walk blindly into a pit of unlimited liability for the lure of $200.

Whew! Sorry to be such a wordy turdy -- coffee just kicked in on me!

:) :)

What if he gets a flat or otherwise breaks down preventing him from showing on the agreed upon day?

RATS!!!!

You mean I missed seven?? Oh woe is me! I only hope I can belly crawl back to bed where it is safe. Oh No! There are stairs in the way... must attach 5 pt harness in case of a fall on the stairs while belly crawling up...need to put on self inflating safety suit in case the 5 pt harness fails...better call and have 12" soft foam installed on the floor too...

Ok Ok -- It was over the top (and back down again too). ;-)

Not only did the coffee "Kick" in, but my truck gelled up big time and I've been stuck in this house for 3 days waiting for some warm weather so I can get some #1 in the tank. All I have to say is "A-B-C-D-E-F-ing ULS fuel!!"

It's okay JB! We forgive you! :) The extreme cold is getting to us here in New England as well. The difference is that I drink tea! And where the heck is that fat character Al Gore hiding when you really need him? :) Out getting some Hollywood award for his silly movie I'll bet! :D

And I'll bet you think I'm kidding about my crazy attorney's list! Think again my overcaffeinated friend! :( He makes you sound like a stump removal cheerleader! If you want, I'll send you his list of 38 reasons why a compact tractor-based business is doomed from the start worse than one of Mister Perdue's chickens!!! It makes for a chilling read!!!

Do they sell dynamite in your area? Might be cheaper for those folks to blow that sucker out of the ground than anything else. Then they can hire you and the tractor to fill in the hole and you won't need to worry about digging up part of the ULF communications web, either.

Rich, you took the words right out of my mouth. Dynamite makes this a quick and easy job. Plus saves load and unload time.

Oh, and with dynamite, the liability list would be much, much shorter.

You must be thinking of the fuse. When you notice it getting shorter ... that's when you need to worry about liability. If it is "much shorter" you need to just plain worry!

Actually I think the reason most attorneys write contracts with warnings like that and are so paranoid is because they have seen clients lose everything because they did not worry about what could happen and only came to the attorney after the fact.
