I need help in selecting a tractor to replace a 2150HST 4X4 w/LA350A FEL that I sold last week. The trouble free 2150 was sized well for my tree farming operation. The most demanding task that it will have is to pull a one row tree planter. Based on the info. that I have seen, the B3030 seems to be about right for the job. There are no open station units in my area to look at and I just want to make sure that I am not going backwards in weight, power, and performance. Also, why did Kubota go without a clutch on the 2630/3030 series? What do you lose or gain without the clutch? I am very interested in any or your comments. I would like to order a new tractor in the next week or two.

Im no expert on this but from what i have heard the B3030 is to light weight for a tree planter. I would think the weight of the L2800 or L3400 would be more suitable.

No idea how large a "one row tree planter" is..?? But Ive pulled a 2 row corn planter with my B3030...just to see if it would or not. Hardest task Ive come up against was this past weekend..trying to shove more than 12" of snow out of my driveway..and I have the R4 tires and not loaded or anything..and WITHOUT the weight box on the back.

Id shove up a BIG full bucketfull and then start slipping..and then have to life the bucket slightly and I could go on....then I looked down and saw I was only running at about 1400 RPM......and it makes just a 'tad" of difference..:D

Clutch? whats a clutch?:D My wife ( a city girl) can even operate my B3030..and the first time you use the HST for loader work..it will amaze you just how slick it is.

BTW: Have the dealer INSTALL the 40 amp alternator on it as compared to the factory "dynamo"..which IMHO isnt worth jack **** !

Here is my opinion only.I have a GRAND L 3130 with a clutch and love it.
Buy what you want, because if you don't you might regret it.As for FEL use
I can operate my 3130 just as fast and smooth as a hydrostatic and rember
you loose about 4 to 5hp with a hydro.Just my 2 cents.

I too am considering the b3030. Currently have a b2150 and wondered how much you got for the one you sold. Mine has about 1300 trouble free hours, a 60' MMM and cleans up nice. I plan on keeping it for now but if I decide to sell needed a idea. Thanks.

Have taken deposit, not yet down the road. The best way to answer your question is for you to look at tractorhouse.com. You can see it along with others, and the pictures say a thousand words. Tractor House is one of the very best ways for buyers and sellers to get together. I do need to say that my tractor was one of a kind. One owner, always garaged, low hours,FEL, MMM, both ag and turf tires, manuals, factory clean with all the shine, and extras. No matter what you have, it needs to be priced accordingly to the model, condition, hours, and extras. If you follow the above rule, your Kubota will sell on Tractor House.

After weeks of reviewing the different models, I ordered a B3030f, FEL, with 60" quick coupler, and R4s today. From what my research tells me, this unit should meet or exceed the ability of the 2150HST that I am replacing (I hope). The 2150 has been a great machine and has handled all of the chores I have. Should be in and ready in about three weeks.

Congratulation on your order. I taded up to my B3030 from a lighter model last year, and can tell you I have been very pleased with the purchase. This is a great unit that has been flawless in all my operational uses.

Best Wishes.
Michael
