What size and brand of 3pt finishing mower

/ What size and brand of 3pt finishing mower #21
Well i found 2 farmking 84 inch rear discharge mowers at a dealership about 200 miles away, both mowers the service dept. went through and they are ready to go. I did find out when talking to the salesman that you cant use these mowers with a quick attach but they do make a quick attach adapter for the farmking mowers that are only a few years old. This one would not qualify, the part is $180, Crap! i plan on hooking and unhooking it weekly. Anyone here run one with a quick attach or an adapter for one? Or have a pic on one could a person build something to adapt to it if they dont make one for this year of mower? He said it is a 2005 or 2006 model?

If you don't have a QH presently, you might want to look into the Pat's Easy Change. More on this later...

As far as the mower linkage geometry, I'm going to guess the lower link hookups are two clevises rather then pins and the spacing between the clevises isn't the same as the QH. This is how my 84" Befco is set up.
Since those clevises (on the Befco) are bolted in place rather then welded, with a few rough measurements I figured out I can reverse the clevis arms, add a 1"-1.25" spacer (between each clevis arm) and make it work with my QH. The spacer doesn't increase the width of the clevis, but just compensates for two bends in one arm of each of the clevises.
I know you'll want pictures, but I don't have any as this is still a bit in the design stage. It, per my measurements, should work.
However, the QH still won't fit most my other implements...they'd require cutting and welding. I haven't welded in years, got no welder and I do have a pacemaker (got to watch welding with a pacemaker due to the magnetic fields generated by the welding current).

Back to the Pat's Easy Change: This might be the easiest way to go, but I'm not sure if the PEC forged hook will fit in the clevises. That forging, IIRC, is about 1.5"-1.62" wide.

Fortunately, the Befco's clevises have a removable pin and, other then the mass of the mower, is pretty easy to hook up using the 3PH without a QH or PEC. Just means getting off the tractor and doing it the old way...

If you buy one of those Farmking mowers, get pictures of the mower hook up and I'm sure someone on TBN will have a possible solution.

I was dealing with ken sweet and a first choice mower was 2595 delivered to town somewhere. In BLUE!

Local intown farm supply can get me a new Farmking for 2450 green, or maybe blue but i would have to drive 120miles. They also will order the farmking parts for me.

Used i can save about 1000 dollars. I figured better to buy a used farmking for 1400 rather than a new king kutter. They looked in good shape, the one for 1300 the paint was faded more(red). I did call farmking in canada and they said they sell the quick attach adapter for the older models as well, the price should be $80 they are selling it for 180 where the used mower is at. I can also get my parts through the farm supply in town here for the used mower. I just wonder if the quick attach adapter will affect the mowing quality?

We sell Farm King also. They are a good mower, even if they are owned by the Russians. Just not as good as a Sicma/First Choice/Phoenix/Farmaxx product. I have been trying to find a local guy a anti scalp roller for his 6 ft Farm King and it is becoming a nightmare. You would think the model # of the mower would be all they need. No, they need a serial #, length of roller, outside diameter of the roller and the size of the hole going through the roller. Good luck on parts support :) Ken Sweet

Farm king vs first choice mowers
I read that the first choice is better than the farm king.
Why?
Ok side by side first choice produces a better cut ok does the farmking produce a bad cut?

Getting parts, talked to farmking in canada and they said is was a problem last year not anymore? Not sure if i believe them. First choice all my parts would have to be ordered online etc. How long will the parts be available from italy?

Why else is the first choice better, anything on the actual deck that makes it better, conviences etc?

THe farmking mowers i was looking at were 2003 and a 2000, 11 and 8 years old and they are still bringing 1300, 1400 dollars for a 1000 more you can get brand new. I thought thats pretty good resale, almost makes me want to buy new and if i need to sell some day i might only loose $1000 or buy used and turn around and resell for 1000 and only lose 3 0r 400. So by this note its only a 600 dollar difference in buying new vs used? I would say the farmking has better resale than the first choice????

Farmking will do fine in Canada and the northern tier of states. The rest of the country does not know too much about Farmking. Now that John Buhler does not own the company and the Russians have control, we hope for the best. We have a TM that is not as efficient as our last one because Buhler/Farmking made his territory way to large for 1 man to handle. Below are pics of the Farmking and the Sicma/First Choice/Farmmaxx/Phoenix/Kleen Kut. Ken Sweet

If I need a part for my 84" First Chioce mower I just call a Kioti dealer ( the Kioti KMR03-84 is the same mower). Parts are mailed to my door in a few days.

If anyone is down and needs fast service, we offer UPS next day, 2nd day air, 3 day and ground delivery on all Kioti/Sicma/First Choice/Farmmaxx/Phoenix/Kleen Kut Grooming mower parts. Shipping probably cheaper than gas driving to the dealer (not counting your time) Ken Sweet

I have the Land Pride 84" rear discharge finish mower (FD2584). Good solid mower easy to hook up, lower power requirements from rear discharge, etc. I put Gator brand blades on it and cut my pastures with it as well as trimming the lawns. I like the full casters on it (as opposed to the single wheels on my JD 72" decks which can tear up the lawn in wet spots.

Its easy to make a feeler gauge to match up the next row to cut. Just take an old broom handle and tape it to the front weight bar until you get the visuals down pat.

Does your tractor have a mid-mount PTO? If it does you really should consider a belly mower. They are so much easier to use and you can see what you are doing when you cut around trees, etc. I am pretty sure the TC40 had middle PTO at least as an option....check it out. If you do, you will be very happy with that arrangement.

Yeah, but those MMM's are quite costly, even more so then large RFM's (not to hard to spend 2500 bucks on an RFM).
MMM's are pretty much dedicated to one particular tractor brand and chassis size. Also, they can't get into areas that an RFM can (backing down a slope, for example.
As far as ease of use....that's a relative thing, of course.
