What size Baler can the FORD 2000 GAS TRACTOR PULL

Only reason new "modern" sq balers require more HP than older balers is they have more capacity BUT one can slow down and not rake as large a windrow to require less HP

Maybe instead of "modern" I should have used the word "current." I got my info from JD, NH, etc. websites.

Another data point:

I used to pull a NH 268 baler ('68 vintage) with a Ford NAA (31 PTO hp, 4spd, no live PTO) and it worked well enough. You had to make sure the windrows weren't too big and most baling was done in 1st-2nd gear. If there was a big clump of hay or broken bales to be rebaled I'd go spread it out by hand since you couldn't ease into it like with a tractor with live PTO.

I got one of them 35hp Chinese tractors that I pull a NH 269 with and just like the others here say, I just slow down. I don't have a large area to do so I just putt putt along and get my job done just fine. bjr

My MF124 baler (two twine, small squares) is rated at 35 hp (pto). But balers this size have been run with much smaller tractors. Like this Farmall Super A in this video.
