Why does the width of the tractor make a difference on a tow behind batwing? Because "not all ground is level ?"

Huh? LD1 asked a very good question: What difference does it make [tread width] with a tow behind batwing? None as far as I can see. Any issue with "ground not being level" would be somewhat sarcastic implication of steep ground with tip over stability issues, etc. Is that what you meant? That factor seems to be inherent with the tractor regardless of whether it is towing a batwing.

What does it have to do with a towed implement? Why does tractor width make any difference whether you pull a 12' batwing or a 21' batwing, or just a trailer or nothing at all?

Bushhog states in the 1812 batwing manual that the inside rear wheels have a 60” width. The M7060 is 41”. I assume the concern is you could roll the tractor. I have an M7060 and want to get a Bushhog 1812 as well. Let me know if you experience any issues with stability on uneven ground.

After owning this setup for a few years now, I can say the concern is not a rollover, it's contact with the inside of the rear tires with the Bush hog in a turn. Even with my rear wheels spaced almost to maximum, I've managed to contact the edge of hitch. I never knew it until I saw the black marks on the paint. The rollover concern is without merit as the hitch on the bush hog can rotate 360 deg about the centerline axis, not to mention this Bush hog is 3,200 lbs with a low center of gravity with a hitch weight of 1k lbs will pretty much keep the tractor planted.

Overall, the 1812 is a good matchup with my 7060.
