The John Deere dealer told me I need to get a 5 foot rear blade, a lot of people say it will handle a 6 ft blade? What is everyone's thoughts? The JD dealer wants to sell me a Landpride 1560 for $525.
get one the width of your rear tires.
TractorData.com John Deere 1026R tractor informationI agree on the one foot over tire width but do not know your tire width or HP. I like Land Pride. Over the years it seems with equipment if I will up grade at time of purchase I am happier over the next 10-40 years.
I do know if one goes oversize too much it is hard to rotate the blade 180 degrees.
Just measured the width of my tires are 4' I have a JD 1026 R 26 HP diesel.
Whats the difference between the Landpride RB1560 and the Landpride RB1660?A 5' blade is all that tractor will want. When you angle a blade to 45* espicially in the snow it will drag the tractor sideways, a 6' would be worse. Don't cheap out and get a TSC blade get something decent that will hold up. A Land Pride Rb1560 would be nice for your tractor. A Land Pride Rb1660 or a Wood RB60 would be really nice but they start to get expensive.

The 16 series tilts. I just happened to remember the 1 series is a limited cat 1 3PH. I don't know how high a 1 sereis lifts. The Land pride RB05 series may be a better match dependent on how high your tractor will lift. You probably should get some measurement of your 3PH all the way down and up before you buy a blade.
That's good to know. Thanks. The cheap TSC blade works fine with the limited cat 1 hitch, atleast with my x749 mower. Lift it high enough without problems.
